  1. Perhaps you uninstalled CodeMeter and then later re-installed CodeMeter and the settings got changed during that process.
  2. Feather in, feather out.
  3. I didn't think you were crazy. BTW Crazy, what are you using or what do you like for MILL/TURN programming such as an Integrex? How about for Swiss Turns?
  4. Thanks Doug, Can you point me in the direction for cad/cam software for the two scenario I posted above you? Partmaker's "swisscam" looks interesting.
  5. What was the outcome of this. Can the newest version of MC do "multitask" programming for machines such as Mazak's Integrex now in a way that everyone likes? And what about the latest "swiss turn" machines? Is the newest version of MC good for those or is MC still falling short when it comes to those two machine types?
  6. ok then, it sounds like it is MCAM, not me. Have been using it this way for years but thought I would finally ask someone else about it. Thanks
  7. When I double-click my tool, I go to the "boring bars" tab, and there is not anything to check that says round. If I click the button that says "Setup Tool", I still do not see anything to check.
  8. Anyone else out there have flat boring bars in Lathe-V9.1? I would think the shanks should be round? What setting do I need to change?
  9. No issues here. Been using IE7 for many months.
  10. When it comes to end mills, we are a carbide shop. A tool sales rep was recently telling me about the benefits of end mills that are made from powdered metal. He said that you can push them harder than carbide because they will flex instead of breaking and that they last much longer than HSS end mills. They cost more than HSS but are less expensive than carbide. We machine a variety of materials and I guess I am wondering if maybe the PM End mills would be more than adequate for many jobs that we currently use carbide on. Anyone have any thoughts on Powdered Metal End Mills?
  11. Thanks for the help. I ended up buying a training CD from tipsformanufacturing.com May buy more if its good.
  12. Can anyone reccomend a better book than the tutorial that cam with my MC Mill V.9? a hyperlink to a vendor would be great too! Thanks
  13. I can punch a tape using MC or Cimco. We like to put man-readable program numbers infront of the $ so that a guy can pick up the tape and easily verify that he has the right one. Only problem is is that I cannot seem to configure MC or Cimco to punch the man-readable characters that are in front of the $ Anyone have any ideas?
  14. The BSA (Business Software Alliance) is real. At the moment, they act on employee tips. Most businesses are not going to do whatever you were talking about to encrypt or hide drive information. Technology to check your drive's content already exist and is used each time you use Windows Update.
  15. Just use webcams that have built-in web servers. Connect the webcams to the network just like any other pc. From any browser on the network, just go to the ip address of the webcam to view whatever the camera is looking at. Some webcams with built-in webservers have cool java controls that will allow panning and zooming from the pc you are sitting at. Viewing from offsite can be a little tricky if your network uses private ip addresses. Firewall will need to be configured to let your camera request through to the proper webcam. If your network uses public, static ip addresses, just type the ip address into your browser to view whatever the camera is looking at. Username and passwords keep prying eyes out. Some webcams with built-in webservers have cool java controls that will allow panning and zooming from the pc you are sitting at. Firewall may need tweaked to allow webcam viewing from outside your enterprise.
  16. John, I was reading last post by NOMINAL. What type of video card do you have? Mine is a NVidia Riva TNT2 Model 64.
  17. Hi John, Do you get the Access Violation error when you exit JobBoss while MasterCam is running/or has been running while a session of JobBoss was open? As far as your problem of not being able to obtain a licence upon restarting JobBoss: Exiting JobBoss ungracefully such as using task manager is leaving the JobBoss user still logged in. That may have something to do with your license problem. Thanks
  18. James, I never said we were the only company that used JB and MC. I said that we may be the first company that is using the lastest versions of both packages and that have MC users that are multitasking with JobBoss and have a nethasp server doling out licenses. It may very well be a unique setting. It does not seem to matter which software was opened first. I have ran many senarios on differnet computers using different operating systems and still get the same results: JB is conflicting with MC. All of our JobBoss computers that do not have MC loaded run JB perfectly. MasterCam and JobBoss seem to be fighting and MasterCam is winning:)
  19. Our access Violation errors are in module Vcl50.bpl
  20. ToolFab....still using DOS JB? It's a differnet world out there with the latest windows based JobBoss. But hey...at least yours doesn't conflict with MC.
  21. Hi, I didn't want to bore anyone, but here are the details of our problem. We have been using MasterCam 9.1 SP2 ever since it was released. At the time we were using JobBoss 7.2 and life was good, no conflicts. A few weeks ago, I upgraded JobBoss from 7.2 to 7.4.0 Now, whenever JobBoss and MasterCam are open at the same time, we cannot close JobBoss. We get “Access Violation” errors. The only way to close JobBoss at that point is to use Windows Task Manager to exit the program ungracefully. If after getting the JobBoss “Access Violation” message and we choose not to task manage out of JobBoss, closing MasterCam will also take JobBoss out with it. JobBoss tech support is at a loss. After doing the usual repair steps on JB and MC from the add/remove programs screen, and a few other things, JB tech said that they would have to take the issue back to the developers. Problem is, if we are the only company having this problem, the developers may not look too hard at it. I feel that maybe we are the first customer to report this problem because we have the latest versions of both JB and MC and our MC users multitask with JB running while MC is running. A lot of companies don’t mix MC users with JB users. We also utilize a NetHasp server to hand out licences to MC users. 1.Do any of you multitask with MC and JB? 2.Do any of you use a NetHasp server? 3.Have any of you experienced the problem I have described? Your input would be greatly appreciated. This problem is driving out programming/engineering dept nuts. Thanks! Paul Thomas Tanksley Machine & Tool, Inc. 22. Hello all, Does anyone here use Mastercam 9.1 SP2 along with machine shop business software called JobBoss version 7.4? We have used MasterCam with JobBoss for years. Ever since upgrading JobBoss from v7.2 to v7.4, we have had a conflict between the two software packages. I won't bore anyone with the details. Fire me an email if you are experiencing a conflict.
