  1. Believe it or not, I used the Keyspan USA-19H serial port adapter to load sounds and change configuration settings on my large scale, radio control, 1/20.3 model steam engines. I found it to be very quirky to say the least and they are not cheap! You DID load the drivers that came with the adapter software, I assume? I didn't have much luck with it and went back to using the straight serial cable.
  2. The spade drill will NOT be happy and you won't be happy with the results. Just an old-timer speaking.
  3. I read this in the paper this morning. Good news!
  4. Good thinkin' Thad. I still have quite a few programs to re-install, but at least, I got my MasterCam fix running! My daughters ex-boyfriend used to do ALL this for me. No thinking involved at all. Where is he when he's needed? Texas, probably!
  5. Thank you John A slight "brain fart", but MC is running now!
  6. John Is this for X or for MC9? I'm installing MC9 SP2. Thanks for your help.
  7. As you know, I was going to install Norton Systemworks 2008 Premier a few weeks ago and dropped the question about what anti-virus program most of you use. Well. like an idiot, I installed NSW2008 Premier and crashed my harddrive! Bummer. My computer guy installed a NEW harddrive and I get to spend the weekend re-installing all my programs, including MC9. Now MC is not seeing the SIM and I assume that's because I remember I had to download drivers for the Hasp that would work with XP Pro. Can someone walk me through the procedure? It's been a few years!!
  8. Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions. I'll try them tomorrow.
  9. Hey Bernie and others, Thanks for the help. Firefox seems to be the way to go. How do you set-up to use both?
  10. Hi all, I've done a search for those items related to IE7. I have put off loading IE7 into my machine because of concerns I had about problems with this version. Microsoft has been sending this update for the last couple of days and I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion about this version. How does it work with MC9? Any help is appreciated.
  11. I believe you're right! It's been so long since I've used it(retired!), I forgot about the cofig files! Brain fart. Thank you.
  12. Why do I get this error message when rotating a drawing with 205 surfaces in MC9? "Error! Memory table not found." Could this be ram error? This is on a 3.2 gig, P4 with 2 gig of ram.
  13. That page is probably familiar to many "old-timers"!. Right out of the Illinois Tool Works trig tables booklet. I've been retired for four years now and I still have my original book dated 1965. The foreman would always hand these out when you first started your apprenticeship. With computers now, nobody does it "manually" anymore. It IS kinda sad.
