We use the Jergens ball lock system. It works well for us. A fixture change takes approx. 2 min. It also works well for vices so you don't have to indicate them every time you put them back on.
We have a Sodick Cnc Hole Poper (small hole edm) It works wonders removing taps or broken screws. It will burn .007 - .118" dia. hole so it is purfect for small taps. If it a larger tap we just progam an aray of holes to burn the center of the taps out. Then we use a pick to remove the flutes from the threads. We have approx. a 99% success rate. The problems that we run into is that if people try to remove the tap with a chisel or punch before hand it make removing the flutes from the threads alot harder.
That seemed to work. I didn't have any copper tungsten so I just used Tellurium copper. It was very slow going. Is there any edm books that anyone can recomend on the edm process.
Thanks,
I am new to sink edm. What I want to do is burn around a contour in a piece of C10 carbide. My question is what works better a copper electrode or graphite? I have an old Sodick A3CR Mark VIII. I do not have conditions for Graphite to Carbide only Copper to Carbide. If any one could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bernie the file you sent will work perfectly. I have a question about the Rast2Vec. How well does it work? Does the file need alot of work after you import it?
We have this sytem set-up and running. I don't know why we wasted time doing it the old way. You can send/recieve/drip feed to multiple machines simultaniously. If your cables are already ran to your machines it only takes the technician a couple of hours and it is up and running. No more waiting for someone to finish sending a program so you can send one to your machine just request it from the machine and it will look in a specific folder on your pc for the program and it will automatically send it.
