"I found out if I remove all lines with ( )
it works fine."
we have a vf-6, vf-3. the only problem I have is if I don't remove the statements () the machine will not run dnc, otherwise it runs fine.
I had a problem with the rough pocket gouging and not showing up in verify or backplot when x was first released but sp1 fixed that, have you downloaded the updates?
hope this helps you
Bill
There is a problem with the helix entry in the rough pocket surface toolpath and the haas post. I crashed a part using it, didn't show up in verify or backplot. CNC software is aware of it and will be issuing a patch for it, I was just notified and thought I would pass this along.
We had a similar problem, our dealer changed the post for us to seperate the rapid move in 'z' and 'x y', when before all 3 axis did a rapid move at the same time, went through a couple of side walls, ours was a Haas also. Hope this helped
Hello friends,
We just got release X, I programmed and cut a part with V9, imported and regenerated the cutter paths in X, verified the part with stl check, looked good with no violations, backplotted, path looked good. Did a post update for a Haas vf-3 and posted the program, set up a piece of crs and proceeded to run the part. The surface rough pocket helixed into the surface and violated in 3 different spots. This would lead me to think it is a posting problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thankx
Thanks jmparis but I know the calculations and the docs, the problem is when I attempt to edit the tool I am not up to snuff on what to enter where, if that makes any sense. I am a long time MC user but havent had the opportunity to create my own tool-materials librarys and have finally got to the point where I am just going to take the time and do it. can you point me in the right direction. Thanks again for the quick reply.
Hi,
I have a problem and know one or more of you can help me. I need to set up my tool librarys for different materials(A-2, D-2, O-1, P-20, S-7, 4140ph, CRS, etc.) so I don't constantly have to edit my speeds and feeds. I know this is basic, but have never taken the time to set-up a tool library, some of the calculations confuse me, I know the magic number 3.82 but mastercams formulas are a delima to me.
Thanks, you guys have been a great source of information.
Has anyone else out there had any tool allocation error problems after updating your maintenence agreements? I updated mine and now I can't use my z-ruff pocket.
thanks
Is there a way I can use a different .cfg for different materials. I want to set up my desktop for different materials, and speeds and feeds. Sorry if I don't get right back with you(big brother is watching)
Thanks
Hi, I'm 54, been programming since'88, before that I was a moldmaker. Worked at Lardens inc, Dynasty Mold(now out of business), Phoenix Die and Mold(now out of business), Plastics Research(now out of business)and Tower automotive. Those were in the Detroit area, moved to northern Michigan 3 years ago and am working steady, much to my relief, I thought it was me for awhile. Have a wife and beautiful daughter(7 years old)
i'm talking about the g54, g55, etc. machine offsets, i'm not getting any in the posted program now, so the machine defaults to g54 or the last offset used by the machine, which can be troublesome on multiple setups
thanks for the input
WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MY POST TO ADD/CHANGE MACHINE OFFSETS TO MY PROGRAM, I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO EDIT, COMMON PARAMETERS OR POST? IT'S A PAIN MANUALLY ADDING THE STATEMENT TO EACH PROGRAM
I just gouged a part because I had the clearance and retract height set too low between two operations using the same tool, the tool had a rapid move to the set height and tried to rapid to the next operation , the part was in the way, dumb, I know. I used verification before I ran the program and it didnt show any collisions between operations, any ideas as to why?
