Please don't confuse WCS with work offset.
Go into your veiw manager and set all the work offsets to a 0 for all G54 output.
Yes, it's tedious and repetitive. That's why we added the lock on WCS switch that John is talking about. See misc int 10.
Brett
All,
Just want to get some feedback from the field.
When you hit cycle start after an M00/M01 do your spindle and coolant automatically come back on?
Would you like to see functionality in Mpmaster to force output of spindle and coolant after a canned text M00/M01?
Thanks for your feedback. It's what makes our posts great!
Brett
Greg,
Using WCS in lathe is a headache waiting to happen. Mapping in post won't really support it. It works awesome for shifting the top WCS over for the G55 on the sub though. Saves time redefining tool origins.
Brett
You can use a WCS. Post needs to think it's in the front for an HMC....that's how it's setup.
So, you caould take the back tool plane, rotate it 180 deg about it's z-axis, save that as your WCS, then you can use the top. That means that you can't use right, back, and left anymore though. You'd have to use right rotated by 90, bottom, and leftrotated by 90. Possible to do but a real mind melter...
Brett
Looks like you're using an HMC definition and a top toolplane.
You should be using mpmaster_vertical if you're doing work on the top (top tool plane and any other plane you can make by rotating it about it's x-axis).
mpmaster_horizontal is for doing work on the front and any plane you can make by rotating it about it's y-axis.
If that doesn't fix you up....call your reseller.
Brett
We blew away a bunch of initializations of predefined variables. Looks like we needed to keep the arctype$ initialization in the post.
Thanks everyone.
Will be updated momentarily.

I'm the lead post developer on the project. This has more been a request from Omax's side of things, to try and get a mastercam solution for their machine. We haven't seen too many customer requests for these posts yet, so it hasn't been the highest priority, but getting an order for one of these posts would definitely push it up the list. So to make a long story short there really isn't a time line for it, but if you're looking for a post for it we can speed up the process and you should contact your local reseller (Sierra CAD/CAM) I believe and request the In-House Solutions post for your machine.
Feel free to drop me a line if you need any help...
We're in the process of working with Omax to produce a post for their waterjets. There is quite a bit of customization that can be built into the post based on the specific needs of the customer (ie question number 2 which could be resolved using some special programming and a custom post). Again this is something that we are just starting to get into, but we will be developing an effective solution with Omax.
Chris
How about a make "Mcam think a .psm is really a .pst and be able to post out with it without manually renaming the files" utility?
Just a thought...
Brett
Josh,
All of our 5-axis posts for the 530 control have about 8 200-series probing cycles built in as drill cycles. They are mostly for part setup but a few are for inspection.
I'm not sure if they are the same as probing cycles used on the 430 or not. Perhaps we may be of assistance to you.

"support coolant using coolant value in post"
(provides backwards compatibility for old posts)
Check this then coolant will work as it used to in v9. Sorry for being unclear....I call that v9 style.
Brett
All,
"X style" coolant uses canned text. So, the location of your pcan, pcan1, and pcan2 are loading up the string called strcantext.
pcan = before
pcan1 = with
pcan2 = after
These postblocks load up the strcantext, it is what will output your canned text (coolant). So, move strcantext if you like. It's location with respect to the pcans is also key.
And, if you don't like that, go into general machine params and switch to "v9 style" coolant.
Brett
Mcam06,
We've got a post for that machine. DMU 50, positional only, tilt about Y, rotary about Z. Which control? TNC or Millplus?
Please send me an e-mail and I'll send you a dealer copy of the post if you like.
Brett
All,
We have updated our Mpmaster for X2. It is available here:
Mpmaster X2
Please note that due to some parameter changes ALL "native" version X mpmaster posts will have to be updated via the update c-hook with the customize.update_mill file.
If your post has this in the header
code:
# Executable : MP v10.0
# Post Revision : 10.3.06046 (MC_FULL.MC_MINOR.YYDDD)
you'll know it's a "native" version X mpmaster.
To update, download the customize.update_mill file along with the regular mpmasterx2.Z2G from the link above. Take the customize.update_mill file from the .Z2G and put it in your mcamx2/chooks directory. Run the UpdatePost.dll from your mcamx2/chooks dir as you normally would.
Please post any questions on this thread or look here for help.
The parameters that are affected include tilt limits and spindle speeds so if you're getting related errors you'll have to do this.
Thanks,
Brett

Shawn,
We're aware of some of the issues with the mpmaster conversion from X to X2. I'll send you the customizable update post dll which will fix the problems you are describing. Just run your version X post through the X2 post update and all should be well!
I'll post on Jay's FTP shortly after.
Chris
All,
Please have your resellers contact us then I'll set you up with the posts. We don't want to step on any toes.
840D notes - we save most of the "goofy" stuff for the 5-axis posts but this one does work quite nice!

All,
We have been working very hard on a rewritten for X Siemens 840D post. It is supporting everything from the md/cd as our other "new" posts do.
Would anyone be interested in a free copy and testing it out for me?
If so, let me know and I'll get you setup.
BTW, we've come a long way on the TNC, and Makino posts as of late thanks to some great feedback. Let me know if you're interested in those as well.
