  1. There are mpmaster_5ax_table, and mpmaster_5ax_head posts. We're currently working on an mpmaster_5ax_table_head (or something like that). We use these posts as the basis for all of our 5-axis development. They are setup similarily to the 3/4-axis mpmaster on this site. Yes, these are products that we charge for. They are available through your local reseller. We'll change the rev date....thanks for the heads up.
  2. All, Chris and I spent the day yesterday going through our 3/4 and 5-axis versions of Mpmaster. So, there's an updated version on the web. # IHS 07/25/07 - Removed buffer 3, tap_feed, rigid_tap, synched with other mpmasters, wbt, cam We've removed buffer 3 with prvtp and nexttp as they really aren't used and take up a buffer space. Replaced with last_tlplnno. Added rigid_tap, removed tap_feed, and just general clean up of the tapping. Finally, some synching with other mpmaster posts for consistency. Next project is to clean up axis substitution with respect to start points being close to (within 180 deg) the ends of previous chains/paths. Thanks everyone for your feedback. Watch for an mplmaster update coming soon.
  3. Steve, Since we're all advertising our services... We have an awesome post for that machine. It includes support for about 5 probing cycles too (set as custom drill cycles).
  4. After further thought, how about a switch called rigid_tap that suppresses speed and spindle call then gives M29 output before tapping? This would work the same way as mplmaster.
  5. Huh, looks like we're all in agreement eh? Maybe I'll rough in the logic to leave out the M03 but leave the M03 output as the default. Look for a big Mpmaster update soon.
  6. Does our accounting dept have any openings?
  7. You use the M03. Controller? Ever tried without it?
  8. Does anyone actually want the M03 output before the M29 for rigid tapping? This is an mpmaster thing that has been around for a while. I find that most people want it removed. Let me know what you guys want and I'll change it if required. Brett
  9. All, Please also note that if using "X style" coolant you can actually type in the type and the M codes (or other text) for on and off. Do this in the general machine params for any one of the In-House Mpmaster based posts. This way custom stuff can be controlled just as other coolant is and you can use multiple coolants at once. Brett
  10. Thanks everyone! MLS - You can try both posts. We've got a great NL post as well.
  11. Babolino, It depends on which threading style you select in your threading cycle. Canned, longhand, alternating, or box. Brett
  12. Just spoke with an X2 user with a Vista system and an Nvidia graphics card. Turns out if you are having graphics issues you should turn down the graphics acceleration as well as right clicking the mastercam icon, going into properties, compatibility and then disable the desktop compensation. I think this is up on the mastercam site but just wanted to put it out there....
  13. If you're more specific we may be able to help.
  14. Guys, I have some great notes on the use of G54.2. In general they are with respect to our post but I'm sure they'd be of assistance. Send me an e-mail if you like and I'll hook you up. Brett
  15. If it helps....we setup posts to jive with backplot, not verify. That would apply for things like axis sub... Brett
  16. MillingMan, I will look at this for you very soon. Thanks. Brett
  17. Greg, yes....I'll hook you up today. Also, anyone can certainly have a copy. Please have your local Mastercam reseller ask for it on your behalf. Brett
  18. Terry, I'm working on an mpmaster_okuma with an okuma AE right now. Full support for super-NURBS etc. Want it? Brett
  19. Happy to help. I really appreciate the feedback also. Thanks! I have put this into mpmaster permanently. Brett
  20. Hello Stale, Aggregates are handled 100% inside the post. The aggregate head definition may look nice, but at this time it's really just being used for passing information to the post about the aggregate head. I hope this helps. Brett
  21. Phil, It's on the tool constraint page at the top for advanced multi-axis. Tighten that down to 1 at least, if not tighter. Try G93. A lot of machines don't like G94 but run G93 like butter. Brett
  22. Peter, It's deg/min, not units/min. Deg/min will change on every move based on your rotary motion. I don't have your path so it's tough to tell but you obviously don't have long straight cuts. Anytime the ratio between linear and rotary motion changes your feed changes (which is on pretty much every line). If it doesn't cut nice, try G93. Brett
