By the way, I ran into the an article ....either on MMS or Cutting Tool Engineering, they stated that most...they mean most...of the Mastercam programmers become programmer just by looking at other programmers at work, do you guys have that kind of luck? I Did not, I got nobody to look at except 1 day overview when update to the newer version! How about people in here? Would you tell your stories? Allen
  10. Thanks, 1 more subject to learn from you guys!
  11. Thanks for your helps guys, the dynamic rest mill seems not to be the option in this case to cleanup the small channel? The blend and dynamic core with 3/8 cutter would be the best for this, but if I have a lot of open pockets, the dynamic core mill is the only choice? I prefer not to have lots of operations if I don't have to. Once again thanks so much for your inputs.
  12. Hello everyone! I have a square block with 2 open pockets ( colour # 9), what's is the most efficient way to rough them out? I have 2 tools, the 1" to rough out the wider channels, and the 3/8" to rough the small channels. What toolpath type do I have to have for dynamic rest mill with 3/8" cutter to go to the small channels? Thanks in advanced. Allen 29.MCX-7

  21. Hello all This is my first attempt to make a program for the 4th axis index, can anyone shed a light what kind of toolpath should I use to cut the water channel (yellow color) on the index machine Thank you all in advance Allen http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p227/al...ter-channel.jpg
  22. Thanks James in Solid Drill's setting I am getting just 1 operation, even I select the ream operation, Can I still manually do it with separate Tplants? Allen
  23. Hello everyone I’ve never made a program for 4th axis drilling before, including here is my part, there are 4 thru holes to be drilled, but I want to spot drill, drill and ream from both sides, can solid drill generates 2 or 3 operations at once? (My control definition with canned cycles are all checked). Or I have to copy and rotate the operations to accomplish this? I tried with solid drill without success, are there easier ways to accomplish this? Sorry if the topic had been covered, I could not find anything in search. Thanks everyone in advance Allen http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p227/al...ran/cavity1.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p227/al...ran/cavity2.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p227/al...ran/cavity3.jpg
