  1. Did anyone look at the pictures? Are they hidden?

Picture-1...Shows the Tool Manager with Part and Library ....these tool numbers are correct

Picture-2... Shows the tool number (primarily 13, 18, 19) ...these tool numbers are correct

Picture-3...Shows the Tool List generated by the post...Tool #13 is correct, while Tool #10 & 11 are wrong.

    Picture-4...Shows the NC Code for T10 (T18) and T11 (T19)

Also, the "Assign tool numbers sequentially" is not checked (You can see that by Picture-3)

I wrote FXT-1 and FXT-2 yesterday morning, and they ran perfectly, I copied FXT-2 and renamed it FXT-3, stretch the geometry to be about an 2 inches longer... regenerate toolpath and posted last night.

I turned off my computer and went home.

When the operator saw the numbering didn't match, he told supervisor who opened it on his machine, re-selected all the tools and regenerated them and re-posted with a different post. Still wrong.

When I got in, I was told what happened, so I open the file, will select every operation tools--regenerated--re-post ... same problem.

When you open a file, no need for RamSaver...you will get the message "Database Did Not Need to be Changed."

If you want, I made a Zip2Go ... it is attached

  2. Same Machine and Control Settings, Same Post, Same file.

I had to make three similar vacuum fixtures which I used the same file for all three, but were under different jobs so three files made from the first as a Seed file.

FXT-1 and FXT-2 were OK, FXT-3 was the problem. All three used the same tools.

  3. I have a tool numbering problem in X9 ... first time ... see attachments

    1)  Tool Manager and Tool Library has one set of number, both the same.

    2)  Toolpath Manager, the tools has the same numbers ... no differences

    3)  In the NC files, they are different

Why? I cannot fix this, tried several times. I have been using here since last April using the same library, tools with these numbers, same post. Also, on another computer with a different post, I am getting the same problem.

    Can anyone help?

  4. I am using X9...in Mill you can pick a level to amke your custom tools, but not in Lathe. Is there a way to make a custom tool using level? Once it is designed I want to put it into a Library for future use.

  5. Hi everyone,

I am looking for o'ring tubing gasket to seal part to a vacuum fixture (see picture).

I went on-line to McMaster-Carr and found this (see 2nd picture)

I am leaning to 5/16" OD, 3/16" ID with wall thickness 1/16".

    Can anyone help?

  6. There are times when I have to backplot a toolpath, manipulate the geometry to make good cutter path (old school).

In SmartCam, you have an option when selecting geometry for toolpath to connect to nearest endpoint.

Does X9 have a chook that will do this?

  7. I am not sure if this post is acceptable, please forgive me if it is.

I was laid off for a lack of work on Monday. If anyone knows of a company that I can apply for a position as a CNC Programmer in Riverside or Orange county, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks,

  8. You need to go and have a word with that boss in the office..... :D

His name is g-code and if he could he would ... but company policy is every three years ... when I got here, I had a great work station, but with X6 it began to slow down, with X7 even slower ... but doable until then .. :fun::guitar:

  9. As many on this forum knows, I have tremendous problems with X7 crashing ... I took all the correct steps to uninstall, clear registry, delete folders, but noting was working UNTIL I turned off my anti-virus protection (in my case it was ESET ENOD) which was seeing the new code method for the NETHASP as a virus ... I left it off for a week ... no crashes ... so I uninstall it and started using Microsoft Essentials. Also, I scheduled a daily scan during lunch so not to slow down the system too much ,,,

As for VERIFY, well most of my request we fixed and a few will be done in the next release, hopefully ...

Running great now ... only wish I had a much better computer system, it keeps overheating and the video card is on the way out ... but I have to wait one more year before I can get a better system .. hurts my productivity ... :turned: :turned:

  10. In settings, sys config, on toolpaths manager branch, what to you have ticked for NC file name?

All three files are set to MC default:

    Under NC File:

Prompt, 1st operation only, and Last operation's NC file are checked ...

Since all three are identical, and #2 was copied from #1 and #3 is copied from #2, and only #2 has the problem ....

  11. I have a question about Copy-Paste operation within the Tool Manager.

    Background:

I am working on a family of parts ... I made the first file, then use it as a template for the second file ... then when working on the third file, I saw I needed to split a toolpath up because of sizze and heat ... wanting all the parts to follow the same concept, I went back to the first file and took the operation and copy-n-paste if directly below ... it retained the NC file name ... when I did the second file, it did not retain the NC File, but took the name of another NC File name. Both files has 12 different NC files names because our controller dose not have the memory to hold the entire file.

In both cases, the Config Manager are identical ... machine/Control defs are identical ... I can close and wait a day and it still does it in the second file regardless of which operation I copy ... it always take the fifth NC file name of the 12.

Anyone else have this experience and can explain why it is happening ..

    Thanks

  12. I tested 3/4" dia DataFlute and Destiny Tools with 6061 T6 aluminum ruffing pockets 5.0" deep with .125 thick walls .400 DOC at 8500 RPM 400 IPM.

Destiny created 68 deg of heat on the part at room temp of 62 degrees, while DataFlute part temp went up to 96 degrees. Plus didn't hold up to the final cut. We did this test on 10 blocks ... Results the same ...

Desting provide less heat distortion and one cutter held up thru all ten blocks ... DataFlute last thru 7 blocks at 50% feed on last two, but still broke ...

    Just saying ...

  13. I was trimming a tool path and got this message ... total lockup ... can't save or save as ... can't hit an icon or files ... nothing, absolutly nothing ...

    Window 7 (64 bit)

    Mastercam X5MU1

Only other program opened was Outlook ...

Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to solve it? to prevent it in the future? etc.
