  1. Not exactly sure what your after, but I just did a 2D contour on an arc section, chained with partial, one direction then the other (back and forth on the same entity)( you could use a chain with multiple entities, when you get to the end, just keep on chaining back to the 1st entity. Under contour type I picked ramp. Then used convert to 5X to give the tool some tilt...

Convert to 5X does not allow you to pick the surface to project on ... but thanks for playing

  2. Thanks, but this is not quite what I am looking for ...

I will have representatives from upper management, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter watching the demonstration ...

I would like to say, as Hannibal Smith would say, "I love it when a plan comes together." I don't want to fly by the seat of my pants (hey, did I make a funny? aereospace ... fly ... )

I have a month to put this together ... practice, practice, practice ...

  3. I want to test different machining methods, compare cutters, etc. for ruffing pockets in aluminum ...

I will be monitoring the procedure ... BUT, my questions is "Does anyone have processes or produres already designed for testing?"

    For example:

    1) Use a stop watch to exact timing

    2) Compute Chip load, volume remaovel, etc.

    3) Different pocketing methods

    4) Carbides vs. Indexables

    5) ramping walls vs. side milling walls

    etc.

    Any input??????

  4. Well, I guess there is no easy fix ... with it worked like previous version of X ...

    1) Open Tool Manager, click on tool and change info ...

    a) Click OK in Tool definition about to be updated

    2) Open operation with tool in the Operation Manager ...

    a) Double-click tool

    B) Place cursor in Tool # box, hit enter

    c) Click OK in Duplicate Tool number

    d) Click OK to Toolpath dialog box

    e) Regenerate Toolpath

    3) Post

    4) Repeat for all 277 toolpaths

PS I guess you cannot use the letter b followed by ) else you get B) instead

  5. When I change the tool number in the Tool Manager, then re-select it in the Operation Manager ... post

Results are tool number remains the old number and tool height is the new number ...

    :o

Also, if I change in Control Definition "Add to tool" to "From Tool" only the tool number changes, but not the height nor diameter ... then post, tool number, height and diameter are still old numbers ...

  6. Dialog box title:

MCWhatsNew.exe - Unable to Locate Component

    Content of dialog box:

This application has failed to start because XmLite.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

    ==========================================

I did an re-install, but gets the same message ... click OK and MCX5 works fine ...

How can i get to to stop this message every time I start MCX5?

  7. Sorry, that is not allowed here ...

I get the error "Could not create: \\btlfilestorage\ ... \btl_temp_files\vepe6dow5f\dad.png" ATEMP directory is created with four files:

    BNCI.BIN 0kb

    tbstate.dat 51kb

    DAD.png 0kb

    lastchn.tmp 1kb

I have NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 with updated drivers ...

I downloaded Verisurf for X5 from the download tab ...

When trying to save it and then run, it would not work ... had to RUN instead ...

Also, the Hidden Line icon converted all my solids to surfaces ...

  8. I have it set for "Adjust for Best Performance" with a Graphics: Desltop performance fro Windows Aero at 7.1 (the lowest sub-score)

When I have it on "Let Windows choose best settings", I get this error message:

    Verisurf:

Could not create: (data path info)\DAD.png

  9. I thought I posted this last week, but even searching I could not find the original post ... so here it is again:

I am working with dual monitors ... right is main ... left is working ... X5 is on the left, and Level Manager and Operation Manager is on the right ... but when I used the Backplot VCR, the "go" button is all the way to the left of the left monitor ... I would like to be able to "undock" the bar and move it to where I want ... Can this be done? If not, why not?
