I know what HSM is since we use it frequently, but, what's the HSM performance pack? This is the first I've ever heard of it. Is there any documentation to look at anywhere?
What about Knowledge Based Machining (KBM), and Automatic Feature Recognition (AFR), Does MC have the ability to take advantqage of these?
I'm seeing some slow processing as well. I have a P4 3.4GHz with 1gig of ram. Saving nci keeps popping up. I have save nci unchecked everywhere I can find it, yet it's still saving periodically. I can turn off autosave I guess.I'm frustrated as well

I miss it too
It was my understanding through my reseller, this issue was going to be addressed in the SP1 release which was supposed to be last Friday
Do we have a new date for the SP1 release yet?
The construction plane and tool plane move to a different view. I'm programming for horizontals and my WCS is different from my c/t planes, as they should be. If I set my c/t plane to front, go to an iso view or side view, whatever, then select the front view icon, it says a different view name, or it will say, view not saved, and the c/t will either disappear completely from the view manager, or they will move somewhere else.
My WCS t/c planes keep moving
I enter the WCS manager, after I have created a view, set the t/c planes, create some geometry or toolpaths, go to a different view via an icon, go back to the view I created and the t/c plane has moved..
very annoying!! Is anyone else having this experience?
one other question..Can somebode please, please, tell me how to bring a sreenshot into the forum. I've tried alt+printscreen, then paste and it don't work. I tried creating a .gif file, no worky. Please advise.
what exactly are you trying to do? Do you want G54 to be output at each tool? If that's the case in the WCS manager you need to put a 0 in the work offset field. then make sure you pick that WCS for each tool.
ok wait a minute..it's working now. My mistake. I'm really glad about that!!
still can't delete the views however..
As I have stated before, I'm not retarded, just slow..
ctrl+c and ctrl+v don't work no matter what I select..I have to r.click cut, r.click paste..
I just want the arrow to stay at the bottom, and if I need to move it, I can move it at will..
what about deleting view in the view manager?...I can send you the file if you would like?
Can you tell me how to paste a screen capture into the forum?
I get the following message when I try to delete a view. Once again, I would show a screenshot, but I don't know how to get one in here. Can anyone help with that?..Am I the only one here?..Am I posting the wrong questions?..I'm starting to get a complex here..Please advise..
Deleting this view is not allowed.
View used in toolpath operation(s)
DOH!!I tried that and it didn't work..When I r.mouse click, delete is not available either. these views were created in V9..does that make a difference?
Edit common parameters, if I select the planes box, I get a long list of $$$$$$$ in the X values box. I have seen this before, and it only leads to trouble..
I'm trying to take a screen shot so I can show you what I'm getting, but I can't paste it in here. How is that done?
am I getting snubbed here or what
I will be training some of our shop personnel in the near future and I would just like to know I'm on the right track..
thanks in advance..
We have several vertical machines with a different max rpm, and a couple that require different tapping cyles amongst other things. If I understand correctly, this should be handled with the control file, however, the only place I have found where I can change the rpm is in the machine definition manager, r.click spindle and change the rpm. I would have to make a new machine definition for each machine that had a different rpm. Right?..I don't even know where I would look to change my tapping cyle code from say a G84 to a G84.1 Is that still done via editing the post with a text editor?
ok..I created a simple little file, programmed for vertical, rotating about -X-, and posted it out with the generic 4 axis VMC post and all is well. I switched machines to the generic 4 axis HMC and posted it, and the code is all wrong. It's still trying to rotate about -Y- and output -C-axis code. Where is my error?..
Something has to rotate, I don't see how you can rotate about X and or Y simply by changing the post.
In the horizontal world, your toolpath is in the front plane, and the WCS is set to the top plane, and we are rotating about Y.
In the vertical world, toolpath and WCS are in the top plane and rotating about X.
In my mind going from the horizontal to the vertical, you would at the very least set the front plane to top view, and then rotate the WCS about Z 90 degrees. Am I crazy? have all these years been for naught?
