  1. Hi Troy -- This fix will require an update. I'm working on getting information on if and when that will be available. As soon as I have something confirmed, I will post that information here. Thanks for your patience, T.J.
  2. Hi Everyone -- Thanks for all the screenshots -- that helped us isolate the error. We think we know what's causing the crash now. Unfortunately, I don't have a quick fix for you. I will post in this thread when I have more information. Thanks again, T.J.
  3. Hi Everyone -- First, I was able to duplicate a crash, but ONLY if you set the launcher to use the wrong type of HASP -- please check to see if this is the problem (which I doubt...). If you're seeing this crash, please take a screenshot of your Mastercam Launcher settings immediately before you click OK and email them to [email protected]. If you put "For T.J." anywhere in the email, it'll make it to me. Thanks for the help on this -- we're trying to figure out what the root cause is so that we can get this corrected as soon as possible. Thanks, T.J. Boberek
  4. Hi Everyone -- We're trying to reproduce this issue here -- can you fill me in on how you're trying to run it? Are you using the shortcut in Start -> Programs -> Mastercam X2 MR2? Or are you running it directly from your Mastercam installation location? Does it crash immediately, or after certain actions? Any details, no matter how small, would be appreciated. Thanks, T.J. Boberek
  5. Hello SBerg -- Do you have .NET 1.1 installed on the machine? That's the first thing that comes to mind. You can check to see if .NET is installed via Add / Remove programs in the control panel. Thanks, T.J.
  6. Hi Andy -- I'll need to get a log file from your machine in order to take this further. Please follow these steps: 1. Go into Add / remove programs -- see if X is listed anywhere in there. If it is, please remove it. 2. Remove these keys, if present: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall{47A8ED18-BABE-42F7-A387-7F8D48F4EC03} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstallInstallShield_{47A8ED18-BABE-42F7-A387-7F8D48F4EC03} 3. Run the mastercam setup from the command line like so (replace "D" with your CD ROM drive name": > D:bindatamastercamxSetup.exe /Verbose"c:installlog.log" 4. Send the c:installlog.log file to [email protected]. Make sure that in your email you specifiy that the email should go straight to me. Thanks, T.J.
  7. Hi Andy -- If you go into Help -> About, what is the Mastercam X version that it displays in left hand side under the Mastercam X logo?
  8. Hello JRaunch -- 1. Uninstall any versions of Mastercam X you have on your system using the Windows Add / Remove programs applet in the control panel. 2. Completely delete your mastercam directory (default is c:mcamx) -- after saving any files you want to keep. 3. Reinstall Mastercam X. That should solve your problem. Thank you, T.J. Boberek
  9. Hi All -- There was some confusion with the different Demo options that were available to the resellers. A Demo installation that did not have the full CD on it (just the actual Demo installation) was made available to them. This installation does not check for Direct X or .NET, it simply installs Mastercam X Demo. The REAL CD iso is now the only one available for download. It will automatically install Direct X and .NET. If you have any problems running Demo, install DirectX 9.0c and .NET and they should clear up. Thank you, T.J. Boberek
  10. Hi All -- We were able to reproduce this problem in QC. Both Jim Martin and Ken Erman's solutions fix the problem. One note: In the release version of X, the registry value to delete is "mastercam, Dialog 242" not "MCGeomSld, Dialog 242". Thank you, T.J. Boberek
  11. Hi Thad -- I think I have the solution to the errors you are receiving. Put the CHooks folder back and install .NET v1.1. That should correct all your errors. Thank You, T.J. Boberek
  12. Hi Paul -- The Mastercam X CD will not be satisfied by Beta 2 of the .NET Framework. It will require that the .NET Framework v1.1 be installed on your system. We went back and forth on this, but finally decided that as v1.1 is the current stable release, we would required its installation. Version 1.1 will co-exist peacefully with Beta 2 -- I have both on my system. If you have v1.0.3705, the Mastercam X CD will detect that v1.1 is missing and require that you install it first. Version 1.1 of the Framework is included on the Mastercam X CD. If you directly run the Mastercam X installation (say, from a fileserver) without going through the CD Frontend, it WILL let you install without .NET v1.1 (and without DirectX 9.0c). This may work on some machines, but in our testing, MANY machines had problems running X without .NET v1.1. Thank you, T.J. Boberek
  13. Hi Michael -- I'm curious as to how you installed X without having .NET v1.1 installed on your machine. If you used the CD, it should not have allowed you to install X with .NET v1.0.3705 -- unless you browsed the CD and ran the installation directly. You really shouldn't do that, as X requires both Direct X 9.0c and .NET v1.1 to run. In fact, this error is the reason that we force the installation of .Net v1.1. Thank you, T.J. Boberek
  14. Hi All -- Just to emphasize what Randy said, Mastercam X is not shipping with any version 9 CDs. Your reseller may, at his or her discretion, include a version 9 CD. Thank you, T.J. Boberek
