I always find that odd when people who run machines don't want to cut faster. The only reason is that they will have a shorter cycle time and therefore less time to stand around playing on their phone.

Personally, I've always had the mindset of doing it faster and more efficient.

worked with a guy that we called 50% Bauer, because the first thing he did when he came in was turn speed and feed to 50%

I use it all the time.  As long as the tool is defined properly in Mastercam and is touched off right in the machine it'll be spot on.

only if they use the right tool.

me: why didn't you use the 1/8" sharp point tool that i gave you with the set-up sheet?

op: i already had a 1/4" with a .01 flat on it set up :wallbash:

That is part of the problem we are experiencing, we do not update as often as MC does we jumped from X6 to X9 and now from X9 to 2019. That is our issue not MC but its a pain in the azz to be expected to learn a new version, new methods and switch from using surfaces to using solids, all the while being expected to keep up with production.

i usually skip a year if there is nothing major, been doing odd years

With all the new fancy stuff in the new versions since getting away from the X versions, and the bugs still in 2019 why release a new version instead of making the current one rock solid? I'm not trying to be a smart azz here but working with this for almost 9 years now , and still getting used to the newer version layout to me no matter how many bells and whistles it has it seems to be a lot more clicking and looking for stuff. I am getting used to it but seems like were giving up functionality for fancy.

i agree, every time i finally get used to a version a new one comes out and its start all over, not just MC but all software. I don't believe we need a new version just because the date changes, in the early days it was years between.

It must have been taken down for some reason.

One of my guys had an update alert pop up this morning but was busy and let it slide.

The update is available for download on the Support/Download page of Mastercam.com

I can't think of any modern Cad/Cam package that has near the keyboard hot key capabilities we had with

early versions of Mastercam of Autocad

and cadkey, i'm surprised some F keys still work
