Yep, I remember my reseller contacted me last year and warned me that if I wanted to download X3(?) I would be able to upgrade V7 files....last chance....still might be easier to get a copy of X3.
i even had some V3 files that i needed the geometry from

I think you can upgrade V9 files from X5 or X6 (I could be wrong but I seem to remember upgrading a load of V9 files when I first came here and I think we were on X5 or X6). You might still be able to download those from CNC.
Problem might be loading out of sequence, that is if you are loading over a newer version . If you have an old laptop you can use for this purpose it might save some trouble, and it doesn't have to be terribly powerful just to do file updates.
X5 will open V9 i still keep V5 for that purpose but I needed V9 to open V7, I have thousands of files that we used to repair molds from

Not sure they wanted to pay for it....
V9 was a highly pirated version

There are HASP issues, video issues, hardware/software issues...
People can get it to launch on a Nethasp, There's a legend that some of have gotten a Hasp to run but it's just that a legend....even if you can get it to run it's dodgey at best.
Let it die
my hasp goes back to V7, I can run V9 on a older computer but only use it when i needed to convert some really old files

My company doesn't want to purchase maintenance for X+. A shame, because I would love to support Günther.
Instead I learned how to make Active Reports do what I need, for setup sheets.
don't understand , it's pennies in the long run, how many hours did you spend to get active reports compared to 5 minutes to set up X+

Oh it happens....might it be reflected in to 500+ meg file I am working, maybe....but it has happened to me as well
didn't mean to imply that it doesn't happen, just that it's not cause to condemn Mastercam completely

If I buy a car and the management system is at fault I get it fixed under warranty no question..
did you ever try it , because in my experience they do everything they can to deny it and get out of having to fix it.

Ours just moved all of our machines to a separate internal network utilizing the Mazak MT Connect Boxes
we only have the one so just use a thumb drive, they do most of their own programming in mazatrol

IT won't allow our Mazak to be on the network because it's windows based,
we got hit a couple years back, my computer was one of the ones it started on, the first thing it hit was my post .pst
i noticed right away when i couldn't post a file and unplugged from the network
luckily we were backed up off site and only lost one day but my computer was hosed from then on

made a 10 minute broaching about 15 seconds but we sold the machine
Mazak gave me a broaching program for for our integrex

Sorry I'm late to the party. We do 6Al4V bone plates on the trunnion on the Haas. I've been using Helical and Harvey cutters with good results. Dynamic roughing with a 1/2" x 1.25" 7 flute .030" radius bull (27287) and Helical's recommended parameters i get five hours of tool life, in a shrink fit holder with 1000PSI TSC. I got some Kennametal Harvi 3's and some of Helical's new Ti specific cutters but haven't had a chance to try them yet, didn't want to change the proven process in production.
we about doubled using the Helical Ti specific cutters
and that's with a HAAS, if we had real machines watch out

https://www.helicaltool.com/products/titanium-6-flute-corner-radius-variable-pitch
Helical just came out with some Ti specific end mills , work well.
non-coated carbide usually works best

I've run into a problem with master cam v9 where when I post my program none of the g or m codes are in the program and there are also no x, y, z coordinates either just numbers
well that sounds like a pirated problem

I think JP just gets tired of people posting "program my part for me because i don't want to put any effort into it" and training from someone who makes a living at it is not what i want to do
