  1. Hi Steve, sorry I about not replying right away. Yes I have the patch installed and like I say, sometimes the converter works great! It's the cats MEOW, to be able to go into the file and manipulate the solid as I would in Solidworks or suppress features is really powerfull. Just adds true functionality to the software. But... for some reason I'm not able to find a comparison, other files just don't seem to want to translate in even when they are similar in design build. I wondered at first if it was external references getting blown out in the translations but I tried files with only simple features that would have file not come thru clean. I love the feature and will keep trying it, just a matter of finding time to try and troubleshoot it. Gotta keep making chips also! p.s. I am running 9.1 on sp2, gotta install the mro304 yet with Solidworks 2004 on a win 2k system.
  2. Mayday, just curious how it goes for you. We design here in Solidworks and import with the parasolid direct, but I've been experimenting with the direct and get different results from diferent files. I've found it hard to just pin point what's causing the dificulties in the conversions. Guess that's why them program writers get all the big bucks eh! Cornfuse us and stump us and then give us the answers. Just Kidding Programmers
  3. "mmmmmmmmmmmmm Kraut and a Brat, with a good beer." Ok, now the German in me is kicking the sh!t out of the Irish. But at least they both agree on the BEER!
  4. Alright the Irish is coming out in me now: You can always tell a German... but you can't tell him much! Let it fly
  5. Lars, I dropped you another e-mail. Can you forward the e-mail address to me also please. Thanks and keep up the Good Work! Brad
  6. Diablo, I had the lovely opportunity to run a Makino SNC86 that was not near the size of what your travels are but was a larger machine. The machine itself was supposed to have .0008" repeat and .0002 accuracy.....we never saw it. we had almost the same scenario as your movements which as time went on I believe were from the style of the machine build and enviroment. The salesman were confident that the machine should have been comping itself but even after laser shooting it we realized it was worse than we thought. Even after doing the laser and comping the machine to achieve the greatest accuracy possible we still saw .003 - .006 movement around the table. I then did temperature checks around the machine and found the in the morning the casting at the base on the floor was usually around 65 degrees but at the top where the xyz saddle was it was about 80! That poor casting probably never stopped moving, a 2 degree diference I found out will move a lot especially when your talking a large distance. This of course is the short version of all that I went thru with this machine but if I can help more please let me know and I send you my contact info. Good Luck!
  7. +1 to you biss03, I agree and have a concern. What compensation do these families receive now when these Hero's unfortunately don't come home? Is there something for them now besides waiting for college? I love your idea but am concerned about the children and families now also. I believe in communities and helping all I can locally and fully support my local Veterans. I wouldn't be here now if it weren't for them. p.s. My boys want to grow up and be Soldiers and shoot bad guys and protect Good people, God Bless Them and those that serve now!

  14. I looked into these machines just a few months ago. They seemed like a cheap alternative. But as usual, you get what you pay for. http://www.fryermachine.com/sxseries.htm
  15. Is this the start of your day also... or the end? We've been on some long hours down here and it seems the days just kinda blend into one another all to easily.
  16. Jim, all I did was create a parting line curve on the surfaces in the direction of projection you wanted. Then you can project the curves (xform squash) to the plane you need. Glad to help!
  17. Good morning Jim, please take a look at project-rad-1.mc9 in the ftp and see if it's what your looking for Sir. Hope it is if there's more I'll gladly try and help if I can. Have a great day
