I think it's the control definition,I did soom work at home and every file had dirty ops when opened at
work.I know the definitions were slightly different
on each computer.I have also had it happen at random
with no particular cause, but that is not very often.

Hi Chris
I had different files open,I can't reproduce it at will. The file It happened with was an MC9 file I
had opened made some changes and was regening the surface project toolpath when it crashed.
I have had problems with multiple windows open before but can't pin it down to any specific action.
Roger
If it's any consolation mine crashed doing a surface project toolpath as i was reading your post!I had two windows open at once if that makes a difference.
I closed the other one and regened the backup file and that worked.I've had a few strange things happen
with multiple windows open

We get problems on our Fadals and we pull the cards out and reseat them, they vibrate loose and cause
random errors. Also we shut them down for 3 minutes
and rehome them as a first step then try the cards next.

I'm having a similar problem when changing a program
from one maching group to a new one,I delete all
the tools and change to a new machine group. When
I go to select an operation to add a tool from the
new machine Mastercam crashes.Happened a lot in the
last few days.I started saving after each stage, then
at least I don't lose to much.I sent the crash report each time.

I am going to use X at home and need to copy my
configuration files-toolbars etc to my home
computer,I copied my config folder but my work
Drive is C and my home drive is D,so when I tried using it at home it complains about the path being wrong.Any suggestions on how to do this?
Also how do you transport your hardware key so it
isn't lost or left at home-I'd forget my balls if
they weren’t in a bag!
Thanks for any help
Roger
I had strange problems with X,simple contours took
several minutes to process, surface toolpaths worked
fine,I reinstalled-same problems.It turned out to
be a corrupt config file, which is still left behind
when you uninstall.I deleted it and everything worked as it should
Is it a long program? I had problems when I posted
over 9999 lines,it started from 1 again when it reached 9999.I changed the seqmax value in the post
to fix it.
My problems have also been fixed,Inhouse
solutions ran my computer remotely,and
my problem turned out to be a bad config file,
so everything is now running normaly.
My thanks to tech support at inhouse Solutions.

I have the same components as you and if I try to
face or contour a simple circle or rectangle drawn
in X the processor goes to 100% and stays there
until the toolpath is computed three and a half
minutes later.I have no problems on surface toolpaths or curves created from a solid. In ver 9
the same thing takes a couple of seconds.I've tried
killing every process, and every video card setting,
I've tried different tools all make no difference.
I've sent files to my reseller and they can't replicate the problem,so it must be hardware.
I'm running SP1,I tried reinstalling and still the same pre SP1 as with the service pack.
My video card is a Nvidia geforce2 MX400 not a great card but would a video card make the processor go to 100%?
Any suggestions I love X but can't use it
