  1. Thanks mayday, that is a great tip. Got any more?
  2. Nevermind! My brain locked up for awhile!
  3. I've created new T/P planes and I'm only using one WCS. When I backplot the toolpath in Mastercam it looks correct. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
  4. I am trying to post out my program for a Makino A77 horizontal mill. I am rotating around the part and mill some pockets at every 22.5 degrees. I am using a Fanuc post(mpfan). When I try to post the program out it gives me this message: Errors were detected during posting! Do you want to view the errors? I view the errors and this is what it says: Combined Mill and Lathe Post Processor Version 9.19 © Copyright 1992-2004 CNC Software, Inc. Processing file with A77REV5... Only single-axis rotation is allowed! Angles may be incorrect. - OP_ID 7 Any suggestions? Thanks, JCLM
  5. I opened up another software in the background and it slowed it down to where I wanted it. Thanks guys!
  6. Cool! Now, is there a way to slow it down.
  7. This is a good one. One of our salesmen wants to know if there is a way to pull a 3D model up on his laptop and basically rotate the part around to give a good visual of the part. It's for a tool show and he wants it to continously run all day. It doesn't need to do anything but rotate. Even if it is a different software other than Mastercam I was hoping someone had a good idea. Thanks!
  8. Rob, I was wondering if you could explain the use of direction that you were talking about. I've noticed on the surface parameter page there is a direction box that is unchecked. I opened it up but I'm not quite sure what values I should put in. Thanks for your help!
  9. I put the file on the FTP site call 92071-7505b top plate 1.mc9 When you back plot the toolpath you can see where it steps down and creates a line all the way down the cavity. If I could lead in to each step over it might eliminate the problem. Thanks
  10. I am machining mold cavities that need a good finish to minimize or even eliminate polishing time. The toolpaths that seem to work the best still give me a line down the cavity where the tool steps over. My boss seems to think I can just put in a lean in/lead out where ever I want. I've tried to explain to him that some of the toolpath just don't have that option to do this. Maybe there is something I am over looking. Any suggestions? BTW, one of the surfaces toolpaths that I use is Flowline. If there isn't a way to do this please respond so I can print this out and show my boss! I've convinced him that you guys in the forum are geniuses! Thanks.
  11. I have done the same thing on some aircraft parts before also. When I have complicated parts sometimes I'm not sure if I modeled it correctly and doing this shows me that my model is correct. I can also show my boss this file when he wants to verify my model.
  12. James, That worked. Thanks!
  13. James, I am using the mphaas post. Jay, in the T/C plane button my tool plane and constructin plane button are on and the WCS button is off. The tool plane and const. plane are both set to #10. The #10 is the view I created when I programmed the hole at that position. Also, the work offset button in the lower left hand corner is NOT checked. When I backplot the tool it shows it doing what I want and posts out the correct A values but always puts in the different work offsets. Thanks.
  14. When I post out my program for a rotary table, it puts the "A" values in correct but it throws in a different WCS every time it rotates to a new "A" position. Any suggestions on how to remove the unwanted WCS.
  15. We had two pull studs in 1 week break on us. They were thru spindle coolant ones, but the actually broke and the end of the threads. We came to the conclusion that our custom wrenches we made were a little too beefy and we were actually tightening the pullstuds too tight. We cut down the handles on our wrenches and haven't had a problem since.
  16. Being a fairly new member to this forum I would just like to share my opinion on this subject. This forum as been by far the most valuable tool for learning the more advanced toolpaths in mastercam. I have learned more in the last few months from coming here than I did the last three years of programming all day, everyday. I had gotten to the point that I had leveled off when it comes to learning mastercam. When I start coming to the forum and started getting different ideas and perspectives from other people I was amazed by the things I didn't know. I sure have impressed my boss with all of the new things that I have learned. When I ask a question on the forum, I usually then go out to the floor and check on things and by the time I get back to my desk I have at least 1 reply and it usually is the right answer that I was looking for. I visit the site about once or twice a day and find it pretty easy to glance at the subject titles and see if there is anything that might benefit me. I really don't get involved in the OT subjects, but they don't bother me either. For as much information that I get from this forum, I will gladly weed through some OT subjects get this information.
  17. When I open up Internet Explorer it defaults to the wrong website. It also has about five different new websites in my favorites(all adult sites). When I look in my Internet Options the homesite has changed. I can delete these items and change everything back to what I want but as soon I restart my computer it is all back again. Does anybody have some ideas to fix this. Keep in mind that I'm am not a superduper computer wiz, so try and speak english and not computer! Thanks!
  18. Millman, I changed that question to yes and it put in the "A" values. Thanks! However, it still put in a different work offset for each rotation.
  19. The files are under (mc9 files, new folder 3)
  20. I will put the .mc9 file and the program on the FTP site. I didn't ever change the WCS, just the Cplane and Tplane. I'm am pretty sure that my post supports 4th axis.
  21. I am having trouble when I post out a rotary table program for a Haas machine. I made new Tplanes and Cplanes for every rotation that I needed but kept the same WCS#1. When I backplot my operations it looks correct but when I post out the program it doesn't put any "A's" in the program and kicks out a different work offset for each rotation. I want it to keep the same work offset and just rotate. In earlier versions of Mastercam, before they had WCS, I had my post processor do this for me, but I haven't got it to work in Version 9. Does anyone have some suggestions. Thanks, JCLM
  22. Our company purchased an add-on called Mold Plus that automatically will do this for your. It also will create parting lines for you, create electrodes, etc. If you do alot of mold work it might be worth looking into. JCLM
  23. The holes are in a grid pattern. I was just wondering if Mastercam would post out the program.
  24. I have a plate that I need to drill approx. 150,000 holes. I want to use a subprogram for this. I programmed one hole and then used Transform, Translate. In the parameters I checked the subprogram box. The Mastercam help menu said that I might need to change my post processor. My machine has a Fanuc OM control. I'm not even sure if this will work but I would like to find out. The machine doesn't DNC very well. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.
