  1. ok, so how about moving the .stl file to the same origin?
  2. Ok, so im gonna try to reply to most of the posts... Havent done anything using the WCS and just downloaded the Verisuft software. But did watch a video on youtube and it said once you understand the WCS you wont go back. this was more how i did it, just took me maybe 1 minute lol. this is what i should have done, dont know why i didnt think of doing this. Ya just throw it on another level and away you go. when i looked this up on the net this is what they said to do, but i couldnt figure it out, once i selected move to origin it was just asking for one point. this one im questioning how to move one axis at a time, because ive never seen that option and would love to know how. as always thanks everyone for the replys
  3. Time for a new question. So I draw my parts in solidworks, and import them. Today I was squaring up material. When I draw the part with chamfer's usually on the first side, its on the center line of the material. On the second op I flip the model, but now have to go off of the machined surfaces. So I try to move the part origin to the corner, but there is no origin point on the corner of the part with the chamfers. So, say youve got a 4 x 2 inch block, with .25"x45 chamfer's on the corners, and a .025"x45 chamfer on the top face, how do you move to origin without a point? Today i just drew the geometry to the point, but I'm thinking there must be an easier way.
  4. I use #2 carbide center drill myself, if it needs to look good. Never tried one of the nine9 ones, boss probably would wanna pay for it.
  5. I used the second way, found it by searching 1003. Just before the M30, is the # pbld, n$, *sg28... one. All i did was remove the # it posted "G28 X0. Y0. A0.". I just had to modify it to how I wanted it to post, I'm happy now thanks everyone.
  6. Thanks, our company just uses the default mill post. Don't think they ever asked for a custom one. Will test this out tomorrow.
  7. Ive been messing around with my post just trying to find a way to know how to put y0. at the end of the last g91g28z0. line. I can make it do it at the end of every tool, but how would you go about doing it just at the last tool? I always put the the program into the machine and forget to put that in.
  8. thanks to everyone who posted, will screw around with this out tomorrow at work.
  9. didnt understand the benefits of wear until yesterday. used 2d chamfer, 5/8" hole using a 5/8" spot drill. a wall was really close so i put the depth at .275" with a .0125" chamfer. in the verify the tool didnt smoke the wall, was nice to see the chamfer in the verify too.
  10. Some of these fields would be nice to be able to setup up a standard answer. Not helpful but I would like to know too, i dont even know where the screen on the left is from.
  11. i actually figured out the problem a bit later after trying things thanks though, there will be more questions.
  12. Some forums are different is it ok to ask a new question in this thread, or start a new one dealing with stock models?
  13. ok, first time post on this forum, but i always use control. a co-worker tried to get me into wear, but i guess it goes back to caveman programming days. today, i was looking at wear assuming that i will wonder wtf, why, all these years ive wasted. but he did say to watch out with old programs, because you get so used to not putting in an offset.
