  1. I go with Scott from Shopware. We have 2 different HMCs, for which they supplied our posts, and they work flawlessly. ZERO issues, as long as you do the WCS Top and TPlanes to the orientations! I barely even look at the output G Code anymore...works predictably the right way, every time.
  2. We got a DMG Mori NHX5000 at our second shop. The setup guys love the Celos control. They say it's easier than a Haas to navigate. (I think Haas has one of the easiest controls to get around in, though the machine itself leaves something to be desired...IMHO) Just started into it with the first couple production jobs. Don't know about longevity or problems yet. Time will tell on that. However, it seems like a good machine. Easier to run than the old Doosan HMC with Fanuc control. Just my 2 cents worth
  3. Thanks everyone! Got it working now. M
  4. OK. I'll take a look again. Maybe I missed something. Sorry for the questions, but I am fairly new to Mastercam, and still sorting through some of the "housekeeping" details, including setting up multiple machines with different tool databases, etc. Thanks for the help.
  5. Sorry, but I'm not seeing those options in 2017 or 2018. Are your screen shots from an earlier version, like X9? I see Compress, Report and Detailed Report...that's it. Perhaps I have an option set incorrectly?
  6. Is there any way to export the Mastercam tool database as a .csv file or Excel spreadsheet?
  7. thanks for the info. Finally got it to work. On another note, is there a way to export data in the Tool database in another format, like an Excel spreadsheet??
  8. Did you set it in the advanced configuration interface for 2018? I had to do it separately from 2017, as I had both on my computer. oops, nevermind...you said you did that.
  9. I am trying to run the 2018 Tool Manager as a standalone (MCAM not running) on a laptop with the complete 2018 Mastercam installed (no other version on the laptop). According to the help, it should work standalone once Mastercam 2018 has been run once. I ran 2018 MCAM, created a simple part and ran a toolpath on it. Then I saved it and closed MCAM, and ran jut the TM. I selected the tool database (copied over from main computer) in TM. It shows the correct number of milling tools as in the same file from the main computer. Problem is, when I click on it, the system hangs, and I get the "not responding", and I eventually have to use Windows Task Manager to close it. So, I put the SIM back in the laptop and opened an instance of MCAM and then opened the Tool Manager. Same thing happened, to my surprise. The main computer that the 2018 MCAM software is normally run on works fine with the 2018 Tool Manager, standalone or with MCAM running. Any ideas why this would not work on the laptop? OS is Windows 10 with all current updates. Mike
