  1. I'm thinking chaining tol. We are also running X2 MR1
  2. I keep getting an error message saying unable to determine machining zone on a surface finish scallop. I have 2 computers though, 1 seat of Mastercam. It will regenerate fine on one, not on the other. So I have to regen on a powerful computer away from the machine and then go to the less powerful computer to post to the machines. Any ideas on whats causing this?
  3. Both as code and as comment are putting brackets.
  4. In my mill post, it is outputing code in manual entry with parenthesis () around it, same as comment. How do I change it in my post?
  5. How do I limit the output of the A axis to 3 decimal places instead of 4? Our Haas alarms with 4.
  6. Were do I change the default system config file at.
  7. We have noticed a problem, and I dont know if it's my post. On a lathe ID toolpath, if you do a finish cut or a thread cut and create another operation with the identical parameters, say as a spring cut, the tool wont retract out to Z0.00 before going home. The part and boring bar usually suffer.
  8. We need to thread mill about 10 1"-5 RH acme thread. We have a kennametal thread mill holder but couldnt find any acme inserts for it. Does anyone have a recommendation on this. I think it would be cheaper and easier to thread mill.
  9. I need to cut an external RH thread that is 1.841 OD with a depth of 0.012" at 12 TPI. The thread is not 60 deg though, it is 120 deg. A 35 deg vnmg insert will fit but I cant get the machine to do it. I dont know if I need a special cycle in the machine or am missing something in mastercam. It is a Haas SL-10 lathe.
  10. I am running in 1920 x 1200 with a 24" Gateway monitor. It seems to be scaling things out of proportion and I cange seem to fix it using the Nvidia scaling settings.
  11. I recently updated my computer and the machine group properties window size is weird and I cant resize it. Is there a way to fix it? I have to hide the windows task bar to see the green check mark at the bottom.
  12. Does changing the screen tol afftect the surface finish of a toolpath or only the quality on the screen?
  13. I have a file with an extension of .LWN and was wondering what it was? The original file is 5 mb, I created an STL which is 11 mb, and the LWN is 15 mb. I dont want to delete it if I need it, but have never seen this type of file. I did have my computer freeze while trying to post some code, if that helps, but it wasn't a mastercam issue on the freeze.
  14. When setting up to use a bar puller, how do you create the tool. Is it just created like a normal OD tool. I have the type that uses two fingers an slides in from the X axis. How much post modification is needed to uses this. I have a haas sl-10.
  15. What would be the recommended sfm and feed for drilling 6-4 titanium. Also coolant or dry?
  16. I was wondering if anyone had a list of parameters for communicating with a cl-20a with a yasnac lx 3 control. I can't get it to work.
  17. make sure that in the parameters you have the number set as well, you can change it for each op, but when you regen it will put the value from the parameters. really the only important one is the first op in the program. it is probably a bug the way it is, but this way still works.
  18. I have a 1998 haas that does the same thing. I turn the filter on and set the total tol on the parameter page (not the filter settings page) to around .00004. This solved my problems but still I couldn't go that fast. I have a new haas though that i can put a filter on at .001 and run around 600-700 IPM finishing with no problems.
