  1. I had this problem and rebuilt the solid in Solidworks and it worked fine after that. I would also make sure that the file is not open in Solidworks when you try to open it in Mastercam. Just some things I have ran into.
  2. The morph pocket also seemed to fix my problem, but have not had a problem since the MRU0904.
  3. I have had this happen when using a pocket routine with 6 bosses protruding offset in two lines. What kind of toolpath was it? Mine didn't show up in verify or backplot and I thought at first some code got lost transferring to the machine, but it showed up in MetaCut after I downloaded it to check it out.
  4. Will a better graphics card help speed up processing and loading. I have an older Nvidia and sometimes some files take forever. That this might be the problem. I have 512 ram and when it's doing stuff there is still 200 mb free. I have plenty allocated to mastercam.
  5. Why do I have to rotate my solidworks files when imported. I create a file in the top plane in Solidworks and import it into mastercam and it goes in the front plane. Can this be avoided?
  6. what speeds and feeds did you end up with? What was your max feed and how slow did you go in the corners?
  7. Thanks, I will try to contact my dealer and do it. I'll keep you posted.
  8. Does anybody have mastercam art or a similar program? My best friend's kid was killed in a auto racing accident and I wanted to make a 3D image of his kid for a keychain or something. Please let me know. I can get a flat picture, but I need it to be transfered into a solid. I have mill level 3 so I can machine it.
  9. Is it possible to change the default size of the buttons at the top to fit more in, or stack them two high?
  10. If its not on Ebay, it must not exist. Thanks MayDay- I was looking under current downloads. Will CNC software email you when maintenece releases come out?
  11. Is there a way to directly open a solidworks 2004 file without having to convert it to a parasolid?
  12. On external threads is it better to start from the top or the bottom?
  13. Is there a certain 3D toolpath that seems to favor for better finishes in aluminum, like lack of tool marks and stepovers?
  14. No its on a Haas. I'll try the plunging idea and backplot to see if that works.
  15. I changed it to a morph pocket and changed nothing else, and it worked fine, just takes a long time. I don't know whats wrong either.
  16. It's not in a rapid, its in feed. I changed the pocket design and now it gouged in another spot.
  17. I know, so did I. It looks fine in MC but was killed on the machine. The lower right cone had the top boss cut and the lower left cone was goughed so hard it tripped an alarm on the machine at about-.8 deep.
  18. It is under all NC programs. Name is cone60 square block2.mc9
  19. I ran a file last light and everything looked fine in verify and the part got cut in two spots where it said it wouldn't be. I dont know why. I even pulled the code off the machine and verified it with the code from the computer to make sure nothing was lost in the transfer. Could somebody please verify with something else to see why it did this. click here for the file
  20. Is there a way to have more options on placing text to where it could anylize the text and place it based off of the center point, like a rectanle can be placed?
