Migration Wizard is how I've always brought everything over.  Works great.

But beware of losing post edits, toolpath defaults, possibly other defaults as well,

and tool library fetching after the change!

use a windows add in to set Mastercam priority to high

I keep hearing mention of this priority setting...

so I looked for it again in task manager, this time I found the setting by right clicking on mastercam under processes page , and found priority listed

I went ahead and set it to high, idk if that will make life better, but i hope so. thanks Corry.

    indicating fixtures, edge finders,

i use a great time saver on my vise. I leave g54 set at the top left corner of the solid jaw and use the extension field for general setups.

there by eliminating the need for edge finding... I measure down to the jaw for my "Z" value , use a step block for "X" and fine tune "y" for how tight the part is held...

we work within .002" so it's good enough. of course tool libraries are a must. I like to start a new library named for the material that the tools are set up for. Whenever  I set up a new tool, I try to remember to save it. u right click the tool or double click it and set it up there instead of using the parameter page. then u have to right click again to save to liberary .

that lead in/lead out would need to be at least 50% of the tool dia

is  that related to the straight line that I would need to use to be able to put wear comp on my stuff?

I was told that is why my circle mill wouldn't take wear comp the other day. does it need to be 50% D as well?

  5. What I ended up doing was to stick a g91 in ahead of my A360. and a G90 in the next line. it worked well.

I think my machine is set up to take the shortest way to the next A value.

by looking at these codes I suspect they will produce the same non turning result.

I will see next time I have the fourth running. Thank you for your time Jason and Heavy Chevy
