Here's a quick way to modify an existing Machine. Open the stl file and mirror the Machine component (xform stl)
See the attached file for a 3 Axis Machine with the Rotary 4th Axis on the right side of the Machine.
The MCX-5 file is a test file from one of our course exercises.
Install the folder into your Moduleworks\MachSim folder.
Thanks to Mike Whitten from the forum for performing the "Hack" and giving me permission to post it up.
The file is to large to attach so click on the Link to download
That's it!! i'll have to analyze the machine build, i also started mirroring the stl files but the rotary table still ended up on the left but i got the spindle pointing to the left. i was partially there at least. thank you Derek

worst case, uninstall both version and reload version 6

make sure in your system config file...start/exit the cimco you chose points to the right directory. i don't use the cimco that came with MC so i chose other and browsed to the correct directory. hth

try uninstalling cimco edit5, maybe there is a conflict with ver 6?

Hum, funny so many just do not see the benefit with the new tool. I am working on building machines and sharing them with those interested if you want to share machines email and I will be glad to share with those that want to benefit from this new ability and not complain about it.
BTW I can show you all of that with Machine Sim and feel 99.95% confident with the right post what I see in the simulation will be what I see on the machine.
Ron, i'm looking for a fadal 4020 with the A axis along X axis on the right with spindle pointing to the left. thanks
-
on a 4 axis vertical machining center, how do you place the A axis on the right side of the table (X+ end) with the nose pointing to the X- end?
bump

what if you install it in the program files directory like MC? i have it on my system but it's XP 32 bit with no problems.

Anything new CAN cause problems or delays. Load up X5 and play with it for a couple of hours. Generate and post some code to make sure all is well. If there are any concerns, jump into X4 and get your work done. A small investment in time will provide yor answer.
+1, Maybe try loading an existing file that was migrated and post it and compare to the original gcode. also when you install X5 keep X4 MU3 on your system in case you feel frustrated with X5.
