  2. I am getting a TOOL COLLISION WITH STOCK error...... Is this a canned cycle problem.....I have tried a couple of different lead in/outs and get the same error......
  3. +1 MLS....... Our training guy told us it's easier using the standard probe cycles built into the machine.....by this I am saying manually.......we tried one time to do it automatically and we had strainge and mixed results......and they were NOT good.......Good luck
  4. We use mastercam to draw parts when the models are NOT given to us......other than that we bring them in as either Step, CAtia or Pro-e files.
  5. No problem.....glad we could help
  6. Try SCREEN.... TOGGLE AUTO HIGHLIGHTING Hope that helps

  8. Here are some screen shots..........Its a horizontal MILLING machine and the screen shot is from the TOP view. The first level in faceing the first level of round stock.......see the start and end are cutting air....... Here is a shot of the last level.....by the end of the material......very little air cuts...... Is there a way to get the first cut closer to the material......like a step down where the material gets wider.
  9. WOW......haven't looked back to this thread for a while........I will read thru it and get back to you Davis........Prolly in the AM.....
  10. Not sure if it's a MCX3 bug or not.....yea, I know X4 is out............My IT people will not load untill we get a disk from re-seller...... I had to edit a toolpath by removing some points to eliminate air cuts. Now when I back plot and verify it STILL shows the moves......BUT......when I post it the moves are NOT there.......... A Mosquito maybe
  11. Thanks.....thats what I thought......
  12. Yea I tried it.......looks ugly but doesn't help the situation.....
  13. I do not see a dynamic option........ All I see is: Zigzag One way One pass Controlled engagement
  14. Is that on X3 G....can't find it.......where at????
  15. Topic title.....Milling I think I have to create a bunch of different levels with different size face/boxes on them......
  16. I am facing a flat on a 4" dia. part and using the facing option. Is there a way for MC not to cut so much air. The last pass is the best and the first is the worst. Thanks
  17. I don't think a defrag is necesary.....but it wouldn't hurt....... What about backing up your machine defs?
  18. Thanks....that worked.....haven't done that in a while....
  19. I remember in older versions when you did a bounding box and expanded lets say .25 MC would give you a 3D box +.25 all around.......In X3 I ger it in a flat plane only. The .25 Z ends up being a .25 thickness......NOT the material plus .5 (.25 per side)..... Am I doing something wrong????? I tried different things and keep getting the same result...... Thanks in advance.....
  20. quote: I don't believe that the motor can get over wound.Watch out or you'll break the rubber band..... seriously......check out the machine def......
