Do any of you know if it is possible to
1)Single block a tap to position...

I understand a temp edit is possible but is it neccessary
Thanks Forum
Thanks guys,
Your answers are what I was looking for I will try again, I am sorry you feel I did not give you enough information, I know you all know what custom tools are and it was that simple of a question, have you or have you not had trouble, you have not so I will back track my work and find my error.
I use custom tool rather often for those odd undercut face groove tools, my 1st attempt in X5 did not go well and it is rush so I just went back to Mastercam X, anyone else have trouble or is it something I did?
Happy New Year Emastercam
trying to part off a piece of stock from the Rotary in a VMC,How do I command a "Spiral" type path from a 1 3/4 dia down to a 3/8 dia Rotating A and closing in on the Z until I reach .375 dia?
Thanks everyone...
Greetings
On occasion we setup angle holders to drill angled holes, we calculate these out long hand, do any of you know a more efficient way to accomplish this, presently I make my calculations and
G1 X Z Feed
Retract X Z HighFeedrate to Clearance
feed short of previous X Z Still HighFeedrate
X Z Feed to Next Position
Ect Ect
Thanks
That is exactley what I thought, but was not completely sure , thanks both of you...
CJep your point is well taken and that is exactley why I recommend people keep up on maintenance...
I have had this happen and founnd that I can simply renumber my tools and it is usually fixed, it seems that bore tools sometimes want to start or end were the previuos turn tool ended...
Hey forum
I have a G55 A0 WCS setup and I have created 3 Views A90, 180, 270; as I work around the Part I do not want the Fixture Offset to change, just the A command My origin is Centerline of Rotation.
I do not really like this and I believe we should use the fixture offsets for adjustment but thje M.E. does not want that.
Thanks everyone
Rickster, nice model and thanks for the input, that model is about were I am at in modeling, and like you we dont "design"
great clarification koko "MC's prime use is to create toolpaths for machine tools." that says alot in conjunction with the rest of your explanation.
again can't thank you all enough...
Running Mastercam X3, how similar is Solid Works to Mastercam, if one is proficient in Mastercam can you model in SolidWorks, or are they quite different?
I believe that when you approach this you need to look at it just like you are at the machine and if you set G54 Position then rotate or move to another location you will either reset G54 or add another Work Offset
Good Morning
We have 1 pc that in trying to associate ".X_t" with Mastercam X4 Mu3 I get the error "X_t not valid win 32 application" and the associated icon is not correct so it is plain to see that something is not just right. Anyone dealt with or heard of this issue?
thanks
Thanks Guys I followed Tim's recommenmdation and went back and found the TXT file that Craig sent to me (thank you) I downloaded the TXT file for modification...
Hello Emastercam community
This subject has been discussed but I am not as familiar with macros and subs as alot of you.
I am trying to engrave progressive serial numbers on parts 0001 0002 0003 ect with a Fanuc 18iM control. I want leading the leading zeros
I found the following:
---------------------------------------------
"X DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER MACRO
This macro is designed for to cut any number, up to 8 digits, on a flat surface. The
number of digits is only limited by the allowed variable length. The serial number will
be cut along the X axis, from the specified starting point then moving in the +X direction.
To call the macro use G65 in the following format:
G65 P5100 S__. C__. X__. Y__. Z__. D__. U__. H__. F__.
Where:
S 4 Digit serial number
C Number of digits for leading zeros
X X Position of first digit
Y Y Position of serial number
Z Start Z Position (Default 0.0”)
D Depth of serial number (Default 0.005”)
U Spacing of digits (Default 0.2”)
H Height of digits (Default 0.25”)
F Feedrate (Default previous specified)
All values must have a decimal point.
Make sure to call the correct tool BEFORE calling the macro program.
The machine need not be moved into position for the macro call. The macro moves X
and Y to position then down to a safe Z ½ inch above the surface. Position the machine at
a safe rapid height BEFORE calling the macro program.
Specify C to include leading zeros in the serial number. A serial number with number of
digits C will be output. If C is omitted the serial number will be cut as specified by S.
The X and Y start location is in the center of the first digit.
Any argument with a default value can be omitted from the macro call.
U is the center-to-center distance of the digits.
S can be specified any number from 0 to 9999. If less than 4 digits are specified, the
macro will add leading zeros.
To automatically increment the serial number in the program, use the following format.
#500 = #500 + 1.
G65 P5100 S#500 C X Y Z D U H F
-----------------------------------------
am I headed in the right direction?
I would think I would have to program each number 0-9, and I have done that, each number on a level and all about my origin. I believe I need to add the subs O0500(0) thru O0509(9) to the main program?
will this G65 line call and serialize my subs?
Thanks everyone learning constantly from all of you
