  1. Just a thought: we often use Misc #4 set to 1 and output G12.1 and G13.2 Polar Mode on and Off respectively...
  2. Martin your response "The thing is that if your corner to be machined is the same size as your tool cutter Mastercam will not outut the G03/G02 move because there is no actual circular interpolation." is a true statement, MC converts the ARC to linear moves which as long as the machinist uses the tool I called for is okay but when they take a smaller tool to help cleanup the corners and do not notice the G2 or 3 missing we end up with a bad radius, I mentioned this in my 1st post. I am going to try your method of reducing my tool by .001 and proceed with caution... Thank you for the help Kennebec
  3. Would someone clear this up for me, I am not deep into the code of MC so when I choose Comp in control as far as numerical output it should be the same as, No Tool, so all radial out put should be the full radius of my selected geometry and the machine tool will take care of the compensation. One advantage of comp in control is the fact that I have many tool options at the machine tool my only limitations are the Radii programmed cannot be exceeded or the control alarms out. Thanks for the help
  4. I am cutting a .2525R with a 1/2 e mill, comp in control, when the tool goes thru this arc it converts output to G1 which is ok for the 1/2 e mill I programmed but does not work well with the 3/8 the machinist chose to run instead, is there a way to force these arcs istead of G1 Thanks Kennebec
  5. I want to contour a pocket with a spring pass I do not want to comp off I want to continue around a 2nd time and then comp off, I thought I see this posted before but do not remember Thanks again
  6. Ahhh the lite comes on: Thanks Dan I am with you now and I am allset all I have to do is, as you said use the New stl for verification from here on out. Thanks again everyone...
  7. CNC I think you understand what I am trying to do, yes I now want to use the STL file generatied by the Vrification of my 1st 2 vise operation as stock, Da@Vian I did use just One part as you said, now I have to move on to do more work and it will be mounted in a Rotary fixture
  8. I have a part started with round stock, have gone thru 1st of 3 operations this used 2 vises G54 and G55 (Top and Bottom) Now I have saved the Verified file as an STL to use for the stock as I continue on. Do I add a new Machine group so I am able to setup new stock or is there a way to continue on with part in new setup and stock definition that I am unaware of. Thanks Everyone
  9. I would like to be able to output a G13 in our Yasnac Control, my thought is possibly utilizing one of the Custom Drill cycles, but that is as far as I have gotten, I am just not following the Post modification. The Cycle I would like will be a selected Hole Ctr or Point, G0 to Ctr of Hole, G1 to Depth and G13 I(Radius to be cut or of Arc Selected for point)D(T#)F(Feedrate). Any help or suggestion is appreciated Kennebec
  10. Thanks Chris i will check that out... Kennebec
  11. The G80 is out put at end of tool, I need it at end of Cycle here is below is my post at end of cycle ptoolend$ #Read from buffer 1 for prv_, current and next tool info #end tool here, current and next valid if n1_gcode <> 1000, pretract #Update current variables to prv_ needed in comparisons !posttype$ if rc1 < size1, preadcur_nxt Any input is appreciated Kennebec
  12. I just use an E mill that is the same Ø as the Thread mill and set MCam parameters from there, however I have not had much luck getting tapered output from Mastercam for NPT
  13. Thanks everyone for the help, I am still trying to make this happen... In mastercam you can set leadin / leadout as % of cutter so by your tool selection MCam knows the Ø of the tool selected, is this seen or described anywhere in the post? I thought that it may be, because in the post there is a question to display a warning when cutter compensation in control simulation finds an error...But then again this is pre post Correct? Thanks again for the help everyone kennebec
  14. Thanks Peter, You have just given me a thought, if we went to wear like you mentioned we would not even need the macro, the tool is programmed and the wear is not going to exceed the limits we allow in the Macro anyway. However change can be difficult here, "We have always done it this way"... Thanks Kennebec
  15. Have any of you tried adding a cutter comp macro to your posts, we manually copy and paste ours and then change the numerical values to suit we only have to change the > and < values this sets a min, and max value for the tool rad comp and if violated a "M00;CUT COMP ERROR" pops up I would like to add this to our post but I am not sure how or if it can be done. Ultimately the ">" value would look at the tool selected in MCam and divide it by 2 and add .01 and the "<" value would look at the tool selected in MCam and divide it by 2 and subtract .01 Thanks Kennebec I have unsuccessfully tried to load a sample output to the FTP Site any one else have trouble with this?
  16. Thanks for the Linky John I should have searched more... Kennebec
  17. Running X3 when I go into Windows Explorer and single click on a .MCX file to just drag and drop or right click to rename, Mastercam tries to Install. I do not have a new mouse (Logitec Cordless Optical), my mouse is not set to double click and I have not set single click execution, any suggestions? Thanks Everyone
  18. Thanks Colin Your 1st option is how I have approached it, I just looked to see what the Options tab may do for me and I really do not see that it will help in this case, if I had a bunch of junk I could mask it but the data is good just all the same level and color, I do not understand why CAD people do not at least change the color for reference. Thanks again Kennebec
  19. Received IGES data from customer with cast and Machined data all together(casting around Machined) all on one level and in one color. any tricks to seperate the casting from the machined data? Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all
  20. All set please disregard my request Kennebec
  21. If you have not already given out this work, we have 6 okuma, and 4 Multi spindle/turret Fanucs and would really like a look. Thanks Kennebec
  22. We have 2 NTY 3(2 spindle 3 Turret) lathes and a WT 100 (2 spindle 2 Turret) all with Fanuc 31i controls, our WT 100 in the G83 mode does a full retract and the NTY s only chip break we have tried matching up Parameter #5101 bit 2 (RTR) set to 1 but the machine stays in the hi speed peck mode. anyone have experience with these Thanks Kennebec
  23. Thanks John I was able to figure it out.
