  1. 45 deg chamfers we use 90 deg chamfer mills set comp at say rad .01 from tool tip to avoid the sharp tool tip and program z to the same .01 from tip plus desired chamfer .05 chamfer Z-.06 Or use the 2D chamfer option in Contour type drop down of your Tool path Parameter page
  2. gcode Yes they are round in verify but NOT in backplot
  3. Why do my lathe bore tool bars display rectangular in shape, and constantly show crashing into stock. Im sure I am probably forgetting something
  4. Hello koves Look in your actual pst file for somthing like this it is in General output settings. breakarcs$ : 2 #Break arcs, 0 = no, 1 = quadrants, 2 = 180deg. max arcs arcoutput$ : 1 #0 = IJK, 1 = R no sign, 2 = R signed neg. over 180 skp_lead_flgs$ : 1 #Do NOT use v9 style contour flags arctype$ : 2 #Arc center 1=abs, 2=St-Ctr, 3=Ctr-St, 4=unsigned inc. do_full_arc$ : 0 #Allow full circle output? 0=no, 1=yes helix_arc$ : 2 #Support helix arc output, 0=no, 1=all planes, 2=XY plane only arccheck$ : 1 #Check for small arcs, convert to linear CAREFULLY TRY ALTERNATE COMBINATIONS I am NOT a post guy, and others my disagree with my suggestion, PLEASE proceed with caution post changes can have ADVERSE effects.
  5. Hello Koves Check your post for Break arc on Quadrants and allow 360 deg arcs. Also I have experienced cutting a contour with fillet size very close to cutter rad (1/2Ø e mill cut a .255R)I turned comp in control on and that was ok until the machinist went to a smaller tool now the tool dives into my .255r and I too have G1 not G2 or 3 and the only way I can see this is in backplot with (Simulate Cutter Comp Off)

    MU3

Gcode you mentioned tool Tip does this address Face mill descriptions so I dont have to lie to my description in Face mill Parameters or make a 3.0 Bull E mill with .03rad
  7. We simply call the next tool in the G43 line Read H1 call T2 to the ready. Siemens 840 Di VMC G43G54X0.Y-3.1Z1.H1T2M3S12000
  8. gcode I finally found MY error I did not have the proper Axis Combo for the tool...DUH Thanks for the input
  9. gcode "I alway make my stock flip the last operation in the first group, not the first operation in the second group." good call I agree and have done that I have somthing else wrong I will find it and let you know, I believe it is in a tool setting. BTW I am running X4 MU2 (13.2.0.10)
  10. Good Morning forum I am running in lathe mode with stock defined, I run thru my 1st operation, simply face Flip Stock, face and qualify opposite end then Stock advance and add ctr to turn. New Toolpath Group after outvend op(the option to extend to stock is nolonger selectable) my stock outline is visable but Brown rather than grey which leads me to believe I may be missing something
  11. Is stock recognition for mill in the works? lathe works okay mill does nothing, this is a bit more bothersome when programming mill turns, turning looks fine, cant see the mill. I realize can verfy this, but I am just looking for a quick visual "Winners" While most are dreaming of success; Winners wake up early and work hard to achieve it ------------------------------------------------- Kennebec
  12. Any one ever or know if you can Mill a Dia with a Fanuc 31i control in a Cross mill holder, Feed to X rotate C and feed Z to effectively mill a Dia Thanks Kennebec
  13. Merry Christmas everyone I am have a problem probing 3 Z points to verify stock variation... 14. I am using a 1/2 Ø x 90° spot drill to deburr parts, I run comp in control and set comp at tool Radius .02 deep (D=.02) I program Z-.03 this gives me a .010 chamfer. My problem is going into small corners in this case a .094 rad corner the arc is converted to 2 xy lines rather than R.094, (Mcam looks at the tool I have chosen, a 1/2 Ø and adjusts the program for it, well if I run the program with .02 comp the tool travels by my .094 R until the 2 larger entities I have filleted with the .094Radius intersect, any easy fixes? I wish the with comp in control Mcam would look at the entities with a zero tool dia, just drive the Geometry. We do not program offline that has been tried and suggested.
  15. Thanks For the help once again Guru It is an interesting learning process you and people like your self in our EMastercam community make this a great experience Kennebec
  16. Thank You HTH Could I ask another question of you? I am not able to select more than 1 point at a time if I do I just get 1 g13 output and it is the 1st point I select. Again can't thank you enough Kennebec

  18. Same here should have mentioned it long ago
  19. Thanks you are absolutely correct...
  20. is there an Mcode for thru spindle Air, instead of coolant we have a Siemens 840 D control if any of you are familiar with it . thanks
  21. I have read various discussions regarding tool files, dirty ops ect. ect. I am considering at the start of each job I will by default have a tool library but I will then go and "Save As" using my Job # as the library name. My thought is the tools will always be with the Job and not changed or edited in any way unexpectedly and I can freely make changes to the tools ie. Projections, LOC and or holder dims. Any problems or alternatives, what do you do? Thanks Kennebec
  22. Just had the same thing happen, simply looked at Parameters and dirtied about a dozen ops
  23. JMC If I do the following add the "==" you told me about is will Variabble 521 bet set at the Probe Touch position or the retracted position. R26=.2R9=120. 24. Well after a Basic math lesson I have arrived here the cycle runs thru complete but this line "YN_[521]=$AA_IM[Z]*1" does not store current machine position to variable offset 521, aany body have any ideas? thanks % O1262 (WNH0126B.ES1) (PN 17331 / 19105M REV T) G0G40G49G90 G53Z0T40 N40T40M6(PROBE) M22 G43G55X-6.35Y-.25A90.Z6.H40T1 Z.5 M21 G290 SPOS=0.
