Thanks Jim,
Worked good, was able to create spline automatically with the points, saved alot of
time. Only question I have is some of the splines
don't look great meaning smooth transisions, is there a way to clean them up before creating the surface. And again thanks for the quick response.
I am constantly getting unable to determine a valid machining zone when useing this toolpath in v9. I have tried playing with boundries and such with no luck. Seem to have most problems when using small cutters and small stepovers, example 1/64 ball with .0003 to .0005 stepovers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Could also use a single lip carbide blank, works great on those odd size holes and is fairly strong. Just grind to needed diameter on your single lip grinder.
Hello all, I have a question concerning an hourly rate. My father has a small mold shop and just purchased a Bostomatic 12G graphite mill for electrodes and we are wondering a fair hourly rate for this machine. He just did some contract work for a company that supplied all the graphite and programs and most of the tooling. He is located in northern Wisconsin and is just wondering what the going rate is for this type of machine. Most time was unattended but there was some attended time. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Have the proe guy export the iges but when he exports have him export the wireframe and surfaces at same time. Creating wireframe from surfaces in mastercam always creates double entities because of the tolerance issue.
I downloaded the sp1 file from the mastercam website, but about a week ago I downloaded the latest app...zip file in my last reply and loaded that which put new files in the apps folder. Is this wrong?
Jay,
That is exactly what I got on older service pack. Seems to have done it since I loaded the latest
Appmch9-070102.zip. Has anyone else had this problem, maybe I should go back to original sp1
Kyle
Is this something cnc software is aware of? I am running the latest update as of july 1, our other seats appm.dll are as of june 1 and there is not the same problem.
I have a problem with v9 sp1, when pocketing with islands it always gouges, I have tried all types of pocketing such as zigzag, etc. and all end up gouging. What I have is say a 3 by 2 inch box with three .750 bosses in center and gouges on the bosses everytime. I am sure it is not something I am doing, I saved the identical file as an mc8 and did same way in v8.1.1 and did exactly what I wanted with no gouges. I would appreciate any help.
I have done what you are asking scott with proengineer but when you do the verify in mastercam you have no control over the tolerance as you do with a standard file. The solid of the stl is very rough and nasty...I wondered if there was a way to set a tolerance in the verify mode, I asked this a couple weeks ago but got no reply.
I have an iges file from mastercam I want to
bring into Proenginner 2001 and when importing the surfaces in proe the quilt is a mess and would require alot of healing, unfortunately we do not have the step or proe convertor. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
is there a way when writing mastercam text
so that is in on more than one line. I have
a couple lines of text we are going to engrave
in a mold but when typing cannot get on more than
one line..it all is on one like only, I am sure
there is an easy explination and thanks in advance.
I would really like to see the STEP translator
be part of mastercam not an add-on with additional
costs. Most software offers this, Cadkey, Solidworks..etc.
