  1. I've used OpenGL renderers on a Geforce before, it's just that Nvidia supports the Quadros more in that direction (faster driver updates for new OpenGL versions). I know it made a big difference 10 years ago but does it still?
  2. Don't sacrifice CPU speed for anything. I'm still interested how much difference a Quadro and Geforce makes. Quadros have more VRAM (I never use much VRAM in Mastercam) and more CUDA performance, both things 3D and video rendering really benefits from but I don't see how that's helping Mastercam. And unless I open massive assemblies my graphics card never sees a lot of usage in the task manager while my CPU is maxed out calculating toolpaths. I'm not saying it's wrong to buy Quadro's but would like to know more details why they're better. Does anyone have a good benchmark file or anything? I have a Quadro at work and a Geforce rtx 2060S at home.
  3. The machine has a Heidenhain control, which also uses the .h extension.
  4. it's not mastercam specific but for our new machine from Taiwan, we received an example program to create a post before the machine arrives. After opening in Notepad++ I realized it's all encoded in chinese. Is there a solution to convert this? I have attached on of the files. Thanks in advance for your help! A02-EM8-HOLE10.H
  5. Is there any documentation about C# Scripting? How do I get startet with this?
  6. I usually get a call back in 1-2 hours here during business hours on weekdays.
  7. Mikron Tools are made in Switzerland and German as far as I know. They are not cheap but worth it if you need small tools for difficul materials.
  8. If you like a clean Win10/Win11 you can use this tool: https://www.christitus.com/windows-toolbox It disables automatic updates, cortana, telemetry and other stuff, so you don't have to do all that by hand. Altough is possible you need to activate Winsearch by hand after it disables Cortana. https://www.groovypost.com/howto/disable-cortana-replace-windows-search/
  9. I like using www.userbenchmark.com from time to time to find out if the performance is how it should be. It works comparing the performance of your cpu, gpu, ram and ssd to others with the same hardware. So you don't have to run seperate benchmarks. But I don't if it would have solved your specific problem.
  10. Same here every, I always save before regenerating Cimco probing paths because it crashes Mastercam so often. Was like that since at least Mastercam 2020.
  11. The .tooldb File is a SQLite Database or something similar. I opened in in DB Browser for SQLite and could read some data. I don't know much about SQL, so an expert in that area could maybe help you.
  12. RAM is something you can upgrade really easy in the future if you want to save some money now.
  13. Thanks! This solution worked like expected.
  14. I started making a machine simulation file for a new machine we ordered. So far no one at the company used machine simulation in MC, we only used verify. So my experience with this part of MC is limited. So far everything works as expected besides the travel limits. In manual control it works and axes are limited by the travel in entered in the settings. But if I simulate a test part where I start drilling at Z+1000 mm, it does it without a warning altough the machine has less travel in the Z axis. Is this an error on my side or this not possible to simulate?
  15. M1 chips are ARM processors and can only run Windows ARM, so it's not possible to run Mastercam.
  16. Is this still working in MC 2021? All the links in this thread are offline
