Feed Rate reverts to 1%!!!

I got problems

Unexpectedly sometimes in the middle of a program run, the feed rate jumps to exactly 1% of its prgrammed value on G01 moves. If the cutter is moving at F20. it suddenly jumps to F.2 !!!

 

I am programming in V8.1 using MPCIN850.PST to post. The VMC is a Cincinatti Milacron Sabre 750 with an Acramatic 850SX control. Shutting it down and starting it up sometimes remedies the problem for a little while. Now it's happening more frequently than before. Help!!

Check Job Setup and see if "Adjust feed on arc" is turned on.

No it's unchecked by default. Once the 1% feed rate reduction kicks in, it occurs on all G01 moves. Go figure.

Sorry but do you mean you restart your vmc. What is the feedrate coming in your output nc files.

Yes, I mean restart the VMC. The last time the problem occurred it was on this line of code:

G01Z-.05F25. It moved at 1/100 the feed rate and the control G & M parameters page read F.2 !

Check your output and make sure there are decimal points on all your feed rates.

 

 

F20 and

F20. are different on most machines.

My guess is that you are using a spline entitie to program the G01 move.

If it is a spline, you can modify it, breake it up to many pieces, or just redraw it with a single line, what would be a better solution.

one of my friend has similar machine and had the same problem, there will be no error in your nc it is the way sometime the controller read it. I guess there are some setting to be changed in your parameter of controller.

Thanks Les for the suggestion, but as Nadeem corretly stated it is a control issue, not the nc code. Welcome to the forum!

 

Nadeem, any idea what settings in the control need to be changed? The default is a G94 which is Inch per minute feed rate.

I think I just found your problem.

 

I don't mean to be a smart@$$, but I've been programming an Acramatic 2100 for the last couple years and we seem to spend more time restarting it to get the control back to normal than acctually cutting chips. Unfortunately I can't be of much help but I can sympathize.
