Copy from Tool manager to library not working?

In 2024 why is the down arrow (copy to library) greyed out?  What I'm doing is opening an old file to dig out a tool, add it to my manager with the UP arrow, then I want to shoot it back down to my library (after opening it back up).  Why can't I do that?  It allows me to do that as an "assembly", but when I go looking for tools, I can' t see both tools and assemblies at the same time.

Looks like you're trying to write it back to a MCX-5 file?    You're not saving it to a tooldb file, and I'm guessing that you're not still using X5?

No I just still had the old MCX-5 file still active.  Doesn't work with tooldb file either.

Highlight the tool(s) you want to save, right mouse click and chose the SAVE ASSEMBLIES TO LIBRARY from the drop down, a window should open, SAVE TO LIBRARY. Choose the location you wish to save to by clicking the folder icon. If you want to save only the tool select the TOOLS bubble, click the green check and your done.

I noticed the same thing in 2023, arrow down grayed out.

I had same problem. Have a look at this:

It is odd since I am not seeing the same thing and running Update 2 of 2024. The .tooldb has been updated through about 10 versions now.

@kunfuzed Arrow key can only save assemblies to library but you need to activate 'Assemblies' in your library tab before using it. This process was new beginning with 2023 if I remember correctly.
