Projecting curves to a surface

Often I find it impossible to project curves to a surface. I ensure that the correct plane is active, using 2022.

When I click on the surface I get no preview, when I click the green checkmark button, nothing happens; no errors, no projected geometry, it's as if I had never opened the project dialog.

It doesn't happen every time and I've been unable to determine what sets it off. Have any of you experienced this? If so, is there a work around? I generally find different ways to get what I need done, but it always a lot more work!

This is one oddity that has survived several versions...

When it happens the ONLY I have found is to close Mastercam and reopen it, then try it again.

Yeah, I've tried that and had it work...sometimes. Othertimes, like the project I'm on today, even restarting the PC doesn't help.

This bug used to drive me insane, but it's been a couple of releases since I've had that trouble.

Yeah, we gotta switch to 2024. We've all got it installed on our boxes, but haven't had time to adjust to the interface changes. Maybe next month.
