How do i make mastercam automaticaly add +20 to the tool offset from the tool number? i see were i can do it manualy but i do forfet sometimes

Instead of T01 - do you want T21?

or do you wish to add .020" to a tool diameter thereby leaving a manual finishing allowance?

You do it in Job setup.

 

We were going nuts over here because we have so many different machines. We ended up changing all of the parameters so that they were the same.

 

IOW: T# = D#

 

It is much easier and foolproof in the long run.

go to the operation manager, then right click and pick job setup.then change it permanently.

If you have a post dedicated to that particular machine, you can go to the post block "pccdia" and before it outputs the tool offset, you can add the line "tloffno=tloffno+20". Doing this will ALWAYS output the tool offset with +20 added to it.

If I understand your question, you want D21 with T1, D34 with T14. If you want to set your MC to default this way, here are instructions:

 

1. Open System Configuration by Screen ==> Configure

2. Under Tab NC Settings click radial button Operation Defaluts

3. open file defaults.df9 for inch and defaultm.df9 for metric (note: click save)

4. Click radial button on right job setup

5. Under heading Tool Offset Registers turn on add and enter 20 under diameter. Also change anything else your want in this box.

6. click OK -- OK -- OK

 

This should do it.
