scanining an image into master cam

i have an image that has been drawn by hand. how do i scan this into master cam. Once i get it there what do i do next to clean it up and scale it to the size i need.

i have the image scanned and thats as far i can get. I'm not sure what to do next, I have ras2vec but don't know how to import and export with it.

Most of these threads recommend for raster2vector. which is an added patch. If you don't want that and have autocad then your import it in that generate the 2d and import it to mastercam. But IMHO you go for raster2vector.

Woodshapes, if you have the image scanned - it needs to be one of these file formats: *.bmp, * tif, *.jpg, *.pcd, *.pcx, or *.gif. Then, in Mastercam, go "File", "Converters", "Next menu", "Rast2vec", find your file name and open it. You will then be at a conversion screen. At this screen, you can use black and white or colors to "filter" the picture for the best conversion - you may have to play with it a bit. When you have a pretty good picture in the right pane - hit "ok". Follow the directions and you will have Mastercam lines and arcs.

Acad can read the scanned item and save it as an iges. Than convert in mastercam.

Jmes FYI, instead of saving as iges. if you directly import dwg, you will get better result.
