G52 Zero Offset

Hi all! I was about to repeat the same part 42 times on one table. I use a G52 to accomplish this (e.g. G52 Y-2 will offset a whole sub program by –2” on Y). I use this offset so I don’t have to regen the whole sub program and thus I eliminate a lot of code. Also, I don’t have to manually enter the offsets into my controller for a G54. Can Mastercam create a executable to run sub programs and offset the coordinate zero to move the programs? If I can’t find a way to do it in Mastercam then I’ll need to do the offsets 42 times myself.

Todd,

If you look in MC help under subprogram it spells it out fairly well. The bad part is that you have to chain all the geometry and it must be identical. "chain window might work" and check the subprogram box in transform toolpath. Once you've done it a few times it's not too bad.

Good luck

Keith
