sw2005 to mcam patch????

just wondering when were going to see the work around for bringing in sw2005 sldprt files in to mcam they said early october ..well here we are 10-13 anyone have a clue about this i just gave our manager the bill for maintenence and first thing he said was where is the new version X and how come we cant bring in sw2005 files yet !!! i hate we i dont have answers for him !!!

Save your SW2005 files as parasolids (x_

They import into mastercam perfectly.

 

I never import sldprt files anyway as the MC import utility doesn't support SolidWork coordinate syetems.

 

With parasolid export, you can define a WCS in

Solidworks and import the part AND WCS into

Mastercam.

Is there a way to directly open a solidworks 2004 file without having to convert it to a parasolid?

import it just as you would a parasolid. it must be an sldprt file. not an slddrw

yes gcode i hear what your saying but here we have an enginearing dept that puts all parts on the server for us to pull as needed this would mean they have to save every part twice and not all parts are made by us the system here is mcam converts sldprt and thats it !!!im waiting for the patch so they can use the sw 2005 in other words (with tear drops falling )you guys in the shop are keeping us from moving on !!!
