Is it possible to add a USB port to a Fadal control?

The new PC based Fadals come with 2 USB ports. You would need a PC based control to add USB. I think the older Fadal CNC88 won't work, and the only other PC base Fadals I have seen run on Win95. I don't believe Win95 supports USB ports.

Windows 95 OSR2.1 and OSR2.5 support USB, but it can be flakey. Versions of Windows 95 previous to OSR2.1 and OSR2.5 do not support USB at all.

Not directly .

You need too much for it to achieve and it is a serious hack ,JMHO

If this board is like my board -

pentium-s on the oldchipset ,you nead a card ,bios update utility and a driver and first of all and apropriate status of main password for

repairment .

The results can be unpredictable and negative and You can completly ruin your pc-board .

we just added a usb port to our 1993 fadal vmc. you can buy a kit. we only had a very small amount of memory avaialable on the control. A company called teir one cnc based in new york, (up near earie pa. border) came and installed it on our machine, it cost around 700 for the kit plus the service call. We use it to dnc programs to large to fit in the contolleers memory.

Calmotion has both the USB port and an ethernet device. Works great. Good guys to work with too.
