5 axis verify

Is there an add on for MC that will allow me to verify a 5 axis operations against an STL file? We have just scrapped several aerospace components because an incorrect drill size was used on one face. I missed it, 2 operators missed it, QC missed it and now we need to start again.

We don't have a third party verification package, maybe we need one?

Hi I make aerospace components and everything is put through Vericut before machining.

More for program errors than dimensional checks.I'd hate to crash a Makino 20,000 RPM spindle moving at 40 meters a minute. That's what First articals are for. Inspection should have checked every dimension against a Drawing after the first off was produced and the rest of the batch machined. Sounds like you have a quality problem don't take it to heart. Programers get blamed for everything.

Bruce,

If there are funds available, I would contact CG Tech.

For lack of a better solution or funds, here is what I do: Verify the program in Mastercam and output the Stl model. Import into Rhino (free eval seat). Change layers to layer one(red) and import the design model. At this point, you have an overlay. This will catch most issues and works real well for free.
