File converters

I have to import files from Cadkey into Mastercam. I have been using the IGES export converter in Cadkey. When importing I come up with quite a few lines out of place, along with the title block being out of place. It hasn't caused a problem yet, but want to know if there is a better converter to use, instead of IGES. By the way, I only export 2d files out of Cadkey.

Thanks, Rick

Pete, I'll send you an IGES file in a few minutes.

CAMmando, I have no Idea what you are talking about. I dont use Cadkey that often. I use it primarily to convert 2d files(once a month if i'm lucky) and to get other employees numbers sometimes. I never really had the oportunity(sp) to play around with Cadkey that much.

rickcact1,

I use also use Iges files to trnasfer from Cadkey to Mcam. I found out that the geometry transfers without any problem. It is a different story with notes and dimensions. I once was told that this is because the drafting entities are not written the same with different software. Do not know f this is true or not though.

+1

The notes always get shifted off from the leader lines, the text in the title block isn't inside the lines, etc. I've seen this in older versions of Cadkey and Key Creator (what used to be Cadkey?)
