James,

Of all the places for people to complain about the capital letters being screaming I would think a cnc forum would be the last place. I have yet to encounter a control that accepts lower case letters. Many times I'll spend all day with the caps lock button on. Sometimes I even have to re-enter my password because of it. But the point being with the nature of our trade I kind of think one would expect or at least not mind an electronic communication in all capital letters. Besides, maybe, and most likely, He's really happy and singing out loud. rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

It has been pointed out that my last post sounds a bit harsh. Let me rephrase.

We definitely *do* understand that of all places a CAD/CAM forum will most likely see messages written in ALL CAPS. That's why the

Forum Guidelines have the joke about duck tape.

quote:

7. Using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is the equivalent of yelling on the Internet. You *do* need to duct tape that Caps Lock key down for G-Code, but please untape it for this Forum.

It's really not a serious offense. At the same time, I feel it's our duty to educate newer users on the finer points of standard 'Netiquette'. That way new users can receive these pointers here among friends.

If I was not friendly in my response I apologize, I was merely trying to gently teach lesson #1 on "netiquette". biggrin.gif

I don understand why it happens though and am sypathetic to those who must edit code often.

Multax found this post at another website.

All members at emastercam.com should keep this in mind when they post.

When a person expresses himself on the internet, he does so using the written word. He can only rely on the impression he gives by using his ability to write coherently. If you want to continue to give the impression that you're uneducated, so be it. It's your choice.
