When I import a parasolid file from Unigraphics, and I check the scereen statistics it only shows the lines arcs and splines. I checked the import option button and solid and edge curves is checked. It does not show the solid until I save the file and re-open it. Any ideas why would be appreciated.
The CRT on my Dynapath was a Cinton CRT made in Korea. I hard wired a Magnavox mono CRT from my first Tandy1000 computer while the Dynapath's CRT was being repaired. I Duct taped it to the top of the cabinet and kept on making chips. Just wire in the video lead. No sound needed.

Ron,
Are you are talking about the crt on the machine. I had a Compumill with a Dynapath 20 control that lost the crt a few times. $1500 a pop for a new one. I brought it to my local TV repair shop. Fixed it for $35. The control vibrating over the years broke the leads on tall components on the board. ( coils, capacitors, etc.)

Buckethead,
If you have generated your operation could you not just lock that operation to keep it from regenerating. Highlight the operation, right click and lock. Just wondering.
Ron
gcode,
I am using version 8.1.1. This seat has not been upgraded to version 9. I will check paths. Yesterday I lost a file. I did a search and found parameter files and one mc8 file in temp with zero bytes. It was all programmed and I am sure I saved it. Then the fiber optic cable went out so I lost all lan for a while. Just a bad day.
thanks,

Sometimes when I change to a different post while posting mc kicks me right out to the desktop. I really hate myself for not backing up my file just before posting or verifying. I Have not found the cause yet.

I combine views when UG parasolid files are brought in. Entities will not chain properly when doing 2d swept toolpaths. The problem is usually solved doing this.

One of our mc seats was up-graded to version 9.1. When we tried to post a program we received a message to recompile m_*.h files to link to m_*.obj files. Can someone give me a clue as to how to do this. We had no problems before in version 9.
Thanks,

I bought my first cnc mill from Compumachine in 1986. It was a Compumill 2500. I went there to their shop for a demo of the conversational control. It had a Delta 10 control with an add on for Cavity milling that I used to make a tapered slot for a nailing gun head. I had the machine for five years. The machine had two other owners after me. All programming was done done by manual entry. Finally bought a Tandy 1000 to load and download programs. I had used a GE tape recorder before that. I still have some of those tapes. Learned the hard way.

If you follow cad-cam's method, you do not have to get rid of all the extra menus around your part that you want to send. You can even drop it in Word and add some comments with it.

Ken,
Create a curve slice thru your surfaces at the x or y construction. Change your plane to look at the curve you created form front or side view. Create an arc of .25"radius tangent to two entities. Go to solids and create a sphere .25" radius with the base on the center of the arc.
Hope this helps.

It is a tough time to be laid off.
We have been told that our days are numbered also.
They told us in May, and are just hanging in till the top decides what to do. We had 11 people retire early in the shop. There were 4 programmers, now there are only 2 of us left. I hope that we can be here till June, after that I don't know what will happen. All the shops in the area are down here in Waterville Maine. Best of luck in finding new work in a brand new year.

HiGary,
I ran a Compumill Dynapath 20 5HP cnc mill with a rotary 7 1/2HP phase-converter for about 5 years. It should have been at least a 15HP to do the best job. Make certain that the control is not on the the manufactured leg of the circuit. Compumachine set it up for me. It was a Phase-o-Matic

Slick,
When I bring in a File usually from ug usually as a parasolid , I go to the main menu, screen, next, and combine views. It changes all arcs to the same view. Some toolpaths such as wire frame 2d swept, will give all kinds of weird toolpaths if we don't combine our views.
