larger file sizes in x

Is anyone else having a problem with Mc9 files almost doubling in size when saved as x file.

I have a 98mb file that turns to 175mb when saved in x and I can't do anything to it without locking up or crashing. I think its time for new computers.

Running:

dual 2.2MHz Xeon

1GB ram

nVidia Quadro4 700XGL 64MB

10,000 RPM scsi Hard drive

Tried ram saver no change in file size.

There are 3302 surfaces in this file no solids

and just the needed boundries to creat toolpaths.

No extra edge curves and no duplicates. I have noticed that files with toolpaths grow more then those without. I deleted all the toolpaths and

saved 11.1Mb in Mc9 and 11.3 in x. So most of the increase is in the toolpath.

OK I said it wrong. When you turn off arcs in the y and z planes in filter settings, your NCI file gets alot bigger and will post out as much as 10 times more data.

What this does, is remove circular blocks from those 2 planes (g18 and g19) and replaces them with little line moves.

But it doesnt sound like this is the case in your file since both NC files are the same.

All I know is that I have 2 machines, one that uses arcs and one that doesn't, and the filesize's are doubled on the ones with no arcs turned on.
