Mike,

My solid chain manager is blank (see links above to see pictures).

I sent mcx file to Matt the other day and he didn't have this issue, meaning his solid chain manager was working properly on my part.

Solid solid chain manager on his pc actually SHOWED A CHAIN, which I'm unable to do on my pc...

Mark,

I'm only throwing out ideas seeing no one can reproduce this in house yet.

Can you try another version of the graphics driver?

Do you have an special effects on in the graphics properties? Things like fading dialogs, transparency, etc..

Are you using multiple monitors? If so does this happen on both?

Did it ever work???

Can you click in the chain manager as if you were tyring to select a chain and see any highliting??? Could it be some other windows setting?

Is your toolpath chain manager working???

What has me baffled is that the cahin manager dialog is all the same color (looking at your image) and not even a little white area where the chain list should be.. it's even missing the damn accept and help buttons.

Can you right click anywhere in the dialog???

Have you unistalled and re-installed???

Was there a beta version on this system at some time??

Sorry for onslaught of ideas, I'm just throwing out some thoughts. We could try cleaning out your registry as well.

If you want we can try a web meeting to see if something catches our eye. E-mail me direct to set something up [email protected]

Got more ? biggrin.gif

Net meeting sound great, but you have to walk me thru it. I haven't done it since win95.

Cleaning my registry is THE LAST thing I'd opt for (bad memories biggrin.gif )

Kind regards, Mark

i'm getting the same error on brand new HP workstation with winXP and Nvidia quadro fx 540.

this is for the CNC people to do. others don't do it because you can't fix it once it comes out.i do it like this to get the error:

1. for the first session of Mastercam X, open/create a file with solids.

2. go back to the solid chain manager, it comes out just fine.

3. now, play around with the resize capability of the menu... pull the right bottom corner to the extreme top left and pull back to normal size.

4. save your work, close MCX and open again.

go to solid chain manager and see the error occur.

i did this on my very old PC, and 2 brand new HP workstations in my lab. the same thing happens. i'm convinced its a bug.

BTW, my MCX version is : 10.0.12.2

Thanks CNC Software.

I went for Ken's suggestion and it worked smile.gif

However everytime I resize solid chain manager window it gets blanked again, but going back to control panel fixes the problem.

Will deleting "mastercam, Dialog 242" in registry fix it permanently?

Or, will this be addressed in the next update?

Kind regards, Mark
