Salah, I think you may have misunderstood the question. I'm guessing that he used to be able to open a MC9 file by double clicking on it and now it won't open anymore. I know because I have the same problem.

I used to be able to open MC9 files by clicking on them. Now I get an error "not found..mill9.txt..." Anybody got any ideas???

Windoze recognizes them as MC files, makes the attempt to open with MC, then errors out.

No problems if I open MC first, then 'get' the file...

One more quick note... It also depends on the users rights on the computer. If you are an adminsitrator, there are no issues, and it works fine. When are IT person went thru the whole issue with our reseller (something about adding a new user?) it could not be corrected to open the file, even when changing the path in the registry, without the user having admin rights. Rumour has it they logged it as a bug and the problem was supposed to be fixed in X but they were not going to correct it in V9

Hardmill, been there, done that. I come up with 'hits' that talk about every other file but MC files.... unless you have a better key word to search for....

Alan, I already checked what windoze is using to 'start in'. Its correct.

Greg, I have administrator rights. Still doesn't work. I've checked other stations, even ones without the rights and they do work. Only a couple of our stations are acting this way.

Psychomill,

quote:

Can't seem to locate where the "Hkey_local....." needs to be changed?

Hkey_local... refers to a Registry key. The only way to change this is to go to the Start menu and select Run... In the prompt type "regedit" and click the OK button. This will open the Registry editor but you should be very careful not to eliminate something that is used for other applicaitons. You also will not be able to open the regedit program without having admin rights on the pc. HTH cheers.gif
