Mill Turn in X

Is anyone out there doing any mill/turn in X yet?

I started my first X mill/turn job yesterday and

I've got to say I'm impressed.

Backplot may not rotate properly in mill,

but mill turn runs great.

The new Cview utilitiy is sweet. Makes me feel

like I actually know what I'm doing. tongue.gif

I'm getting feedrates greyed out in cross and face drilling. The spindle speed is OK.

I'm wondering if this is caused by an error in

my machine definition??

The files is posting OK.

If I need to change a feed rate I have to edit it in the tool description, I can't edit it in the Op Manger.

gcode,

I've been doing Mill/Turn jobs since I got X.It's the one thing I think that has improved.

Backplotting in Xsp1 has improved it use to crash always for me.But I haven't had 1 crash in backplot since the update.

I would still like to see the Lathe back plot update after each pass not at the end of the Toolpath.

gcode,

I opened a Job where I have Turning then milling machine defs and toolpaths.

The red arrow was in the milling ops.

All the Lathe Toolpaths where greyed out.

I then selected with the mouse a toolpath in the Lathe Machine def.It then turned Yellow, so I selected each Lathe toolpath and they turned back to yellow folders from grey.

Or select operation that has the Lathe toolpaths in it and it will turn grey to Yellow

As I said at the start of this thread, I'm quite impressed with X mill/turn. There seems to be some artificial intelligence behind the scenes with tool and construction planes.

In V9 you had to build a tool plane for almost everything. In X you choose cross or facing toolpaths, pick your chains or holes and

the toolpaths come out right and post right.

I do have one minor grip.

Simulation of rotary motion in mill/turn is excellent, but the system should be turning rotary

motion off automatically when Y axis milling is enabled.

I've sent a couple of minor bugs in, but overall

X mill turn is a big improvement over V9
