Silhouette boundary

I get this error every time I try to use the new Silhouette boundary chook.

Can you select multiple surfaces? Mine shuts down with single or multiple surfaces.

I selected multiple surfaces, and it made a boundry at Z zero. The part I did also had thru holes, and it gave me boundries there also.

If you didn't already, please push the 'Send item' so we can look at dump file. Add whatever comments you feel might help.

Does it happen on every part you've tried?

What is the date/time/size of SilhouetteBoundary.Dll in your MR1 "Chooks" subfolder?

Thad - I don't know why it is happening, but please use the Send option to send the crash report to us. Our programmers can use the report to help track down problems.

It happened on a file at the end of the day. It happened 2 consecutive times selecting multiple surfaces then again on a single surface. That was all in the same file.

A little off topic, but I have never had the option to send anything when I had crashed previously.

If i remember correctly we added this in the SP1 timeframe. When you send it to us we get detailed information where the code was when it crashed. Sometimes it leads the programmers right to the problem, sometimes it gets them in the neighborhood, sometimes it hits them over the head with a lead pipe and dumps them in the desert with no clues as to what happened. It has proven helpful so don't be bashful about sending them in.

I sent 2 in this morning. It crashes on different files, multiple or single surfaces.

Ooops. I haven't ran it yet. Let me run it and I'll post my results.

It ran fine on my machine. I did a single surface as well as several. My model was all surfaces, no solid present, although I have the solids addon in my MasterCam Level 3 MR1.

 

All in all this chook is a cool tool.

I still get errors with this chook on one PC and it works OK on the other. Anyone have any ideas? Did anyone at CNC Software get a chance to look at the error reports I sent in?

 

It works very nice, but I noticed that the boundary is made up of splines. Is there any way to get to to output lines and arcs? Boundaries with splines create huge programs.

What are you using it for Paint by Numbers!?!

 

Its miles away from the original Geo.

Am I doing this right, you pick a surf and it makes an Edge curve

(At my preset.cfg's tolerence .0002)

and puts it on my current Z level in 2d.

I just put a window around the everything except the solid.

And I set the Z and level to the top of the part.
