Does M/C support peck tapping?

I have heard its the latest and the greatest...

Does it even exist?

Mastercam can support virtually any canned cycle.

This is usually a simple change in the post processor.

Does the machine have a "peck tapping" canned cycle, or do you need to "synthesize" the cycle (that is, put out a series of G81's, or G1/G0's to get the motion you want).

If it's a canned cycle built into the machine control, very simple. If the latter, this can take more work, but is still usually possible.

The Fanuc 16i control will support the rigid tapping peck cycle.

In the G84 can cycle add Q with the value amount of peck.

"The second z is the peck amount"

I think I get it ,You configure in a custom drill procedure in M/C drill. Then you put the if/then in the post?

I have a Vickers *** 2100 that supports Peck Tapping.

MC deals with it fine.

What is "peck tapping" and won't that turn your tap into a drill after the first "peck"?

Nope! It twists in a bit, out a bit, in a bit more, out a bit, in even more, etc....Forward reverse, forward, reverse. Works awesome for blind holes, the chips don't seem to pack in as much.

I also have a vickers 2100 comtrol. I have been struggling a little with the post. how did you get M.C. to support peck tapping. What post are you using? mine is pritty good just a couple glitches.

If you want, I can send your reseller the post and they can get it to you. The reason being is that I do not want to knowingly support Software Pirates, so if I do anything for anybody, their Mastercam reseller will know about it, that way they know what is going on in their terrotory as well. Sorry if this is sn inconvenience.

It started from MPFAN not MPA2100.

It is now a Version 9 Post as well.
