phantom line intersect

i'm trying to pick stock corners in verify. the box a have has a small corner radius.how do i select the intersection of to lines even if the don't physically touch?(i.e. phantom) thanks

I have not been able to find a way to do this in X.

 

It is one of the things I miss.

 

It does not seem to be able to pick projected intersects any longer.

that sucks. i don't want to retrim the two lines because they are part of a contour op. any suggestions?

create lines at the endpoints of the lines to the intersection point. The you can delete them without affecting the chained gemoetry.

I am not sure if I understand well your question but what if you click the intersection button first and then pick the 2 line that form the phantom intersection?

 

This is what I do to find the intersection of 2 entities.

Yup that works. You have to select the intersection button first.

You are correct that will work for a point, didn't know that.

 

It will not however work if you are trying to create geometry form a phantom intersection point but this is a good point out

Don't know for you, but I can do it to create lines, arc or whatever geometry as long as you use the intersection button before clicking you point.

kind of a PITA aint it. Thats what I think miss most from 9, just hit the i (or whatever) to select a point.

Which one is the intersection button?

I have it now.

One needs to keep using the options to remember where they are as it is sooooooooo different from

version 9.

Use keymapping.

 

alt-e ;endpoint

alt-i ;intersection

etc.

In MR2, you will get the hotkeys back for "e" endpoint, "i" for intersection, "c" for center....you get the point.

 

Also, Todd, in MR2 you can temporarily lock the autocursor overrides by right mouse clicking on the icons. This is nice because you then don't have to even type the hotkey for every point. Once locked, it stays active until you unlock it.

 

Just a few things to make everyone's life a little easier!
