I've been having a similar issue with the toolpath references being lost. I've dismissed it as part of another problem being that the sim keeps dissconecting for no reason that I have been able to discern. When it happens again I will send you the file.

When ever it happen to me all references to the associated geometery is gone. The operation show that there is geometery but no luck regening. I have to go back and re-pick all the geometery. Just one of thoughs hick-ups. I've been using X for a long time and haven't come across this issue till lately.

Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it don't.

I have not figured out a pattern yet.

In System Config/Files there is a check box

named

"Restore entire toolpath data in File, Open"

Maybe this got unchecked somehow???

I'm trying to wrap my head around this one and I am not totally convinced it is isolated from the other standing issues I have. Every time I think I'm getting close.....well I'm still trying to figure it out. I'm pointing my my finger at the software but at the particular systems hardware compatibility.

Have you tried ram saver? It worked for me..

Nci box checked.

Half way through Ramsaver I lock up & crash.

All these crash reports are sent in to MC.

 

Before MR1 this very PC Would randomly

Not overwrite my nc file but prompt and say it did.I kept make changes in MC and post it

And it would still be the very first nc program.

That took me a while to figure out What was going on.

Mc said it was happening to a few people.

Same with this issue.

 

I have no problems Fed xing this PC to Mc.

Well, I had to go back to 9 for the 5-axis stuff ,for now...

file to [email protected]. They can't fix problems if they don't know about them

It's not just a single file. It crashes on saves and re-gens, or hangs up on a graduated grey screen with the file name in the left center.

sometimes it hangs up just opening a file with a large amount of toolpath data.

 

The next step is to load X on a new pc and see if it is my system that is unstable.

Has anyone experimented with turning

Windows Restore off or on?? That function

takes up a lot of space and a lot of resourses.

One of the first things I do to a PC is kill

Restore. I wonder if killing it would help with these crashes.

So far, turning off system restore has helped stabilize things quite a bit.
