Would someone mind taking a look at a file for me.

Giving me headaches this morning.

It's swarfing toolpath run in 4 axis, which I've done before but I cannot get a good path this.

Might someone tell me what I am missing?

I would recreate my geometry for the chians or use a different toolpath. You can use Swarf but you will need to use the SYNC method maybe points will work the best here. Create an equal number of points on the top and bottom chains. This will force the tool to SYNC along those points almost like Toolaxis control lines if you were using Curve5ax my favortie toolpath for something like this part.

Look at your file with CRAZYSPIN added to it see if that works for you. I would use a smaller endmill as well and needed to set 4th axis to Z axis.

Ron, Thanks I'll take a look at that in a bit.

Qmp, thanks for the suggestion.

I just changed my rotation from X axis to Z axis and the path looks better. I am confused as to why. I am rotating this part around the X axis of my machine.

Might this difference be because of the created WCS and the toolpath needing to see the actual coordinate system and not the created one?

OK, I flipped my file all around. Made my part lie on the x axis origin, created new WCS's to work on for the ends and used the standard TOP WCS for the swarf path and it worked fine.

Thanks all for your help and suggestions
