Another solid problem

Recommended Posts

If you are trying to create the radius on the inside and outside you need to create one more circle for the outside. The inside is easy but the outside is going to need one more circle to give you what you need to take away the material forthe outside curve. Do extrude both direction and cut body. One soild will be the inside cicle the 2nd soild will be the 2 circle one just bigger than the other. These will be ghose soild to just remove material but needed to do what I think you are after.

Ron,

Hit it.

An extra circle outside for a cutting boundary and the inner one is a cutting boundary by itself sice it is closed to the center.

Were you able to open the one I sent you last week Jeff?

Yeah but Matt, with Demo you cannot opening anything that was created after the initial X release I believe.

If you go into the solids tree, you can pick the extrude operation and click on geometry, you'll see the 2 circles I picked and then I extrude cut >> through all. Then I did the same to the inner radius.

Isolate the outside area you want to cut away and then isolate the inside area.

Same lesson as last week actually except you needed to do this in two places a bounded cut outside and a bounded cut inside. You were trying to combine them into one cut.
